They have contradicted the LORD and insisted,“ It won’t happen. Harm won’t come to us; we won’t see sword or famine.”The prophets become only wind, for the LORD’s word is not in them. This will in fact happen to them.

Above all, be aware of this: Scoffers will come in the last days scoffing and following their own evil desires,saying,“ Where is his‘ coming’ that he promised? Ever since our ancestors fell asleep, all things continue as they have been since the beginning of creation.”

to those who say,“ Let him hurry up and do his work quickly so that we can see it! Let the plan of the Holy One of Israel take place so that we can know it!”

I will throw you away from my presence— both you and the city that I gave you and your ancestors.I will bring on you everlasting disgrace and humiliation that will never be forgotten.”
