Son of man, thou dwellest in the midst of a rebellious house, which have eyes to see, and see not; they have ears to hear, and hear not: for they[ are] a rebellious house.

He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they should not see with[ their] eyes, nor understand with[ their] heart, and be converted, and I should heal them.

And they, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear,( for they[ are] a rebellious house,) yet shall know that there hath been a prophet among them.And thou, son of man, be not afraid of them, neither be afraid of their words, though briers and thorns[ be] with thee, and thou dost dwell among scorpions: be not afraid of their words, nor be dismayed at their looks, though they[ be] a rebellious house.And thou shalt speak my words unto them, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear: for they[ are] most rebellious.But thou, son of man, hear what I say unto thee; Be not thou rebellious like that rebellious house: open thy mouth, and eat that I give thee.

Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive:

And he said, Go, and tell this people, Hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not.Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and convert, and be healed.

And Jesus said, For judgment I am come into this world, that they which see not might see; and that they which see might be made blind.And[ some] of the Pharisees which were with him heard these words, and said unto him, Are we blind also?Jesus said unto them, If ye were blind, ye should have no sin: but now ye say, We see; therefore your sin remaineth.

And he said unto me, Son of man, I send thee to the children of Israel, to a rebellious nation that hath rebelled against me: they and their fathers have transgressed against me,[ even] unto this very day.

And he said, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God: but to others in parables; that seeing they might not see, and hearing they might not understand.

Hear now this, O foolish people, and without understanding; which have eyes, and see not; which have ears, and hear not:

Thy princes[ are] rebellious, and companions of thieves: every one loveth gifts, and followeth after rewards: they judge not the fatherless, neither doth the cause of the widow come unto them.

And I will make thy tongue cleave to the roof of thy mouth, that thou shalt be dumb, and shalt not be to them a reprover: for they[ are] a rebellious house.But when I speak with thee, I will open thy mouth, and thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; He that heareth, let him hear; and he that forbeareth, let him forbear: for they[ are] a rebellious house.

And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:

But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same vail untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which[ vail] is done away in Christ.

And utter a parable unto the rebellious house, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Set on a pot, set[ it] on, and also pour water into it:

Oh that my head were waters, and mine eyes a fountain of tears, that I might weep day and night for the slain of the daughter of my people!Oh that I had in the wilderness a lodging place of wayfaring men; that I might leave my people, and go from them! for they[ be] all adulterers, an assembly of treacherous men.And they bend their tongues[ like] their bow[ for] lies: but they are not valiant for the truth upon the earth; for they proceed from evil to evil, and they know not me, saith the LORD.Take ye heed every one of his neighbour, and trust ye not in any brother: for every brother will utterly supplant, and every neighbour will walk with slanders.And they will deceive every one his neighbour, and will not speak the truth: they have taught their tongue to speak lies,[ and] weary themselves to commit iniquity.Thine habitation[ is] in the midst of deceit; through deceit they refuse to know me, saith the LORD.

But this people hath a revolting and a rebellious heart; they are revolted and gone.

As keepers of a field, are they against her round about; because she hath been rebellious against me, saith the LORD.

Say now to the rebellious house, Know ye not what these[ things mean]? tell[ them], Behold, the king of Babylon is come to Jerusalem, and hath taken the king thereof, and the princes thereof, and led them with him to Babylon;

Stay yourselves, and wonder; cry ye out, and cry: they are drunken, but not with wine; they stagger, but not with strong drink.For the LORD hath poured out upon you the spirit of deep sleep, and hath closed your eyes: the prophets and your rulers, the seers hath he covered.And the vision of all is become unto you as the words of a book that is sealed, which[ men] deliver to one that is learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I cannot; for it[ is] sealed:And the book is delivered to him that is not learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I am not learned.

Remember,[ and] forget not, how thou provokedst the LORD thy God to wrath in the wilderness: from the day that thou didst depart out of the land of Egypt, until ye came unto this place, ye have been rebellious against the LORD.

Yet the LORD hath not given you an heart to perceive, and eyes to see, and ears to hear, unto this day.

As an adamant harder than flint have I made thy forehead: fear them not, neither be dismayed at their looks, though they[ be] a rebellious house.

What then? Israel hath not obtained that which he seeketh for; but the election hath obtained it, and the rest were blinded( According as it is written, God hath given them the spirit of slumber, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear;) unto this day.

And when Jesus knew[ it], he saith unto them, Why reason ye, because ye have no bread? perceive ye not yet, neither understand? have ye your heart yet hardened?Having eyes, see ye not? and having ears, hear ye not? and do ye not remember?

For I know thy rebellion, and thy stiff neck: behold, while I am yet alive with you this day, ye have been rebellious against the LORD; and how much more after my death?

Woe to the rebellious children, saith the LORD, that take counsel, but not of me; and that cover with a covering, but not of my spirit, that they may add sin to sin:

I have spread out my hands all the day unto a rebellious people, which walketh in a way[ that was] not good, after their own thoughts;

We have sinned, and have committed iniquity, and have done wickedly, and have rebelled, even by departing from thy precepts and from thy judgments:Neither have we hearkened unto thy servants the prophets, which spake in thy name to our kings, our princes, and our fathers, and to all the people of the land.O Lord, righteousness[ belongeth] unto thee, but unto us confusion of faces, as at this day; to the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and unto all Israel,[ that are] near, and[ that are] far off, through all the countries whither thou hast driven them, because of their trespass that they have trespassed against thee.O Lord, to us[ belongeth] confusion of face, to our kings, to our princes, and to our fathers, because we have sinned against thee.To the Lord our God[ belong] mercies and forgivenesses, though we have rebelled against him;

But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

And thou shalt say to the rebellious,[ even] to the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord GOD; O ye house of Israel, let it suffice you of all your abominations,

Ye have been rebellious against the LORD from the day that I knew you.

Who[ is] blind, but my servant? or deaf, as my messenger[ that] I sent? who[ is] blind as[ he that is] perfect, and blind as the LORD’S servant?Seeing many things, but thou observest not; opening the ears, but he heareth not.

Saying, Go unto this people, and say, Hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and not perceive:For the heart of this people is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes have they closed; lest they should see with[ their] eyes, and hear with[ their] ears, and understand with[ their] heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.

Ye stiffnecked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, ye do always resist the Holy Ghost: as your fathers[ did], so[ do] ye.Which of the prophets have not your fathers persecuted? and they have slain them which shewed before of the coming of the Just One; of whom ye have been now the betrayers and murderers:

That this[ is] a rebellious people, lying children, children[ that] will not hear the law of the LORD:

Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart:
