“ Son of man, you are living among a rebellious house. They have eyes to see but do not see, and ears to hear but do not hear, for they are a rebellious house.

人子、爾居悖逆之族中、彼有目可見而不見、有耳可聽而不聽、因屬悖逆之族、○

“ Son of man, you are living among a rebellious people. They have eyes to see but do not see and ears to hear but do not hear, for they are a rebellious people.

“ Son of man, you are living among people who refuse to obey me. They have eyes that can see. But they do not really see. They have ears that can hear. But they do not really hear. They refuse to obey me.

“ Son of man, you dwell in the midst of a rebellious house, who have eyes to see, but see not, who have ears to hear, but hear not, for they are a rebellious house.

“ Son of man, you live among rebels who have eyes but refuse to see. They have ears but refuse to hear. For they are a rebellious people.

“ Son of man, you live in the midst of the rebellious house, who have eyes to see but do not see, ears to hear but do not hear; for they are a rebellious house.

“ Son of man, you dwell in the midst of a rebellious house, which has eyes to see but does not see, and ears to hear but does not hear; for they are a rebellious house.

so that they may indeed look, and yet not perceive; they may indeed listen, and yet not understand; otherwise, they might turn back and be forgiven.”

He has blinded their eyes and hardened their hearts, so that they would not see with their eyes or understand with their hearts, and turn, and I would heal them.

Whether they listen or refuse to listen— for they are a rebellious house— they will know that a prophet has been among them.“ But you, son of man, do not be afraid of them and do not be afraid of their words, even though briers and thorns are beside you and you live among scorpions. Don’t be afraid of their words or discouraged by the look on their faces, for they are a rebellious house.Speak my words to them whether they listen or refuse to listen, for they are rebellious.“ And you, son of man, listen to what I tell you: Do not be rebellious like that rebellious house. Open your mouth and eat what I am giving you.”

That is why I speak to them in parables, because looking they do not see, and hearing they do not listen or understand.Isaiah’s prophecy is fulfilled in them, which says: You will listen and listen, but never understand; you will look and look, but never perceive.

And he replied: Go! Say to these people: Keep listening, but do not understand; keep looking, but do not perceive.Make the minds of these people dull; deafen their ears and blind their eyes; otherwise they might see with their eyes and hear with their ears, understand with their minds, turn back, and be healed.

Jesus said,“ I came into this world for judgment, in order that those who do not see will see and those who do see will become blind.”Some of the Pharisees who were with him heard these things and asked him,“ We aren’t blind too, are we?”“ If you were blind,” Jesus told them,“ you wouldn’t have sin. But now that you say,‘ We see,’ your sin remains.

He said to me,“ Son of man, I am sending you to the Israelites, to the rebellious pagans who have rebelled against me. The Israelites and their ancestors have transgressed against me to this day.

So he said,“ The secrets of the kingdom of God have been given for you to know, but to the rest it is in parables, so that Looking they may not see, and hearing they may not understand.

Hear this, you foolish and senseless people. They have eyes, but they don’t see. They have ears, but they don’t hear.

Your rulers are rebels, friends of thieves. They all love graft and chase after bribes. They do not defend the rights of the fatherless, and the widow’s case never comes before them.

I will make your tongue stick to the roof of your mouth, and you will be mute and unable to be a mediator for them, for they are a rebellious house.But when I speak with you, I will open your mouth, and you will say to them,‘ This is what the Lord GOD says.’ Let the one who listens, listen, and let the one who refuses, refuse— for they are a rebellious house.

and with every wicked deception among those who are perishing. They perish because they did not accept the love of the truth and so be saved.For this reason God sends them a strong delusion so that they will believe the lie,

but their minds were hardened. For to this day, at the reading of the old covenant, the same veil remains; it is not lifted, because it is set aside only in Christ.

Now speak a parable to the rebellious house. Tell them,‘ This is what the Lord GOD says: Put the pot on the fire— put it on, and then pour water into it!

If my head were a flowing spring, my eyes a fountain of tears, I would weep day and night over the slain of my dear people.If only I had a traveler’s lodging place in the wilderness, I would abandon my people and depart from them, for they are all adulterers, a solemn assembly of treacherous people.They bent their tongues like their bows; lies and not faithfulness prevail in the land, for they proceed from one evil to another, and they do not take me into account. This is the LORD’s declaration.Everyone has to be on guard against his friend. Don’t trust any brother, for every brother will certainly deceive, and every friend spread slander.Each one betrays his friend; no one tells the truth. They have taught their tongues to speak lies; they wear themselves out doing wrong.You live in a world of deception. In their deception they refuse to know me. This is the LORD’s declaration.

But these people have stubborn and rebellious hearts. They have turned aside and have gone away.

They have her surrounded like those who guard a field, because she has rebelled against me. This is the LORD’s declaration.

“ Now say to that rebellious house,‘ Don’t you know what these things mean?’ Tell them,‘ The king of Babylon came to Jerusalem, took its king and officials, and brought them back with him to Babylon.

Stop and be astonished; blind yourselves and be blind! They are drunk, but not with wine; they stagger, but not with beer.For the LORD has poured out on you an overwhelming urge to sleep; he has shut your eyes( the prophets) and covered your heads( the seers).For you the entire vision will be like the words of a sealed document. If it is given to one who can read and he is asked to read it, he will say,“ I can’t read it, because it is sealed.”And if the document is given to one who cannot read and he is asked to read it, he will say,“ I can’t read.”

“ Remember and do not forget how you provoked the LORD your God in the wilderness. You have been rebelling against the LORD from the day you left the land of Egypt until you reached this place.

Yet to this day the LORD has not given you a mind to understand, eyes to see, or ears to hear.

I have made your forehead like a diamond, harder than flint. Don’t be afraid of them or discouraged by the look on their faces, though they are a rebellious house.”

What then? Israel did not find what it was looking for, but the elect did find it. The rest were hardened,as it is written, God gave them a spirit of stupor, eyes that cannot see and ears that cannot hear, to this day.

Aware of this, he said to them,“ Why are you discussing the fact you have no bread? Don’t you understand or comprehend? Do you have hardened hearts?Do you have eyes and not see; do you have ears and not hear? And do you not remember?

For I know how rebellious and stiff-necked you are. If you are rebelling against the LORD now, while I am still alive, how much more will you rebel after I am dead!

Woe to the rebellious children! This is the LORD’s declaration. They carry out a plan, but not mine; they make an alliance, but against my will, piling sin on top of sin.

I spread out my hands all day long to a rebellious people who walk in the path that is not good, following their own thoughts.

we have sinned, done wrong, acted wickedly, rebelled, and turned away from your commands and ordinances.We have not listened to your servants the prophets, who spoke in your name to our kings, leaders, ancestors, and all the people of the land.Lord, righteousness belongs to you, but this day public shame belongs to us: the men of Judah, the residents of Jerusalem, and all Israel— those who are near and those who are far, in all the countries where you have banished them because of the disloyalty they have shown toward you.LORD, public shame belongs to us, our kings, our leaders, and our ancestors, because we have sinned against you.Compassion and forgiveness belong to the Lord our God, though we have rebelled against him

But if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing.In their case, the god of this age has blinded the minds of the unbelievers to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.

“ Say to the rebellious people, the house of Israel,‘ This is what the Lord GOD says: I have had enough of all your detestable practices, house of Israel.

You have been rebelling against the LORD ever since I have known you.

Who is blind but my servant, or deaf like my messenger I am sending? Who is blind like my dedicated one, or blind like the servant of the LORD?Though seeing many things, you pay no attention. Though his ears are open, he does not listen.”

when he said, Go to these people and say: You will always be listening, but never understanding; and you will always be looking, but never perceiving.For the hearts of these people have grown callous, their ears are hard of hearing, and they have shut their eyes; otherwise they might see with their eyes and hear with their ears, understand with their heart and turn, and I would heal them.

“ You stiff-necked people with uncircumcised hearts and ears! You are always resisting the Holy Spirit. As your ancestors did, you do also.Which of the prophets did your ancestors not persecute? They even killed those who foretold the coming of the Righteous One, whose betrayers and murderers you have now become.

They are a rebellious people, deceptive children, children who do not want to listen to the LORD’s instruction.

They are darkened in their understanding, excluded from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them and because of the hardness of their hearts.
