我们犯了罪，行事歪曲，作恶背叛，偏离了你的诫命和法规，没有听从你的仆人众先知——他们奉你的名向我们的君王们、首领们、祖先们和这地所有的子民说话。“主啊，公义在于你；至于我们犹大人、耶路撒冷的居民，以及你驱赶到远近各地的全体以色列人，因为对你行事不忠，都满面羞耻，就像今天这样！耶和华啊，我们和我们的君王们、首领们、祖先们都满面羞耻，因为我们对你犯了罪！怜悯和赦免在于主我们的神；我们却背叛了他，没有听从耶和华我们神的话，没有遵行他藉着他的仆人众先知在我们面前所立的律法。“全体以色列人都违背、偏离了你的律法，不听从你的话；因此神的仆人摩西的律法上所记的诅咒和审判都倾泻在我们身上，因为我们对神犯了罪。神实现了他的话语，就是他针对我们、针对那些审判我们的审判官所说的，为要使极大的祸患临到我们身上；像这样在耶路撒冷所发生的祸患，在普天之下从来没有发生过。

事情必如此成就在大地之间、万民之中，就像橄榄树被摇打，又像葡萄收获期结束后遗落的残粒。

以色列啊，虽然你的子民多如海边的沙粒，却只有其中的余剩者将回归。灭绝已经注定，公义必如水漫溢，

这地必被再次焚烧，其中还会有十分之一的人存留，就像黄连树和橡树被砍伐，其中还会有树桩存留；圣洁的后裔就是这树桩。”

如果那些日子不被减少，就没有一个人能得救。可是为了那些蒙拣选的人，那些日子将被减少。

林中所残余的树，少得连孩子也能记下来。

以赛亚论到以色列人，呼喊说：“以色列子民的人数虽然多如海沙，将要得救的却是剩余的少数。

然而，那通向永生的门是多么小，路是多么窄，找到它的人是多么少。

但神对他的答复是怎么说的呢？“我为自己保留了七千人，他们是没有向巴力屈膝的。”照样，在现今的时刻也有剩余的少数，就是藉着恩典蒙拣选的人。

我也要使你的后裔如同地上的尘沙那样多——如果人能数算地上的尘沙，才能数算你的后裔。
