I will scatter to the winds all those around him— his staff and all his troops— and I will pursue them with drawn sword.

圍城期滿後，你要把三分之一的鬚髮焚燒在城中，三分之一在城的四周用刀砍斷，三分之一要揚在風中吹散，因為我要拔刀追殺他們。

城被攻破，城裡的所有士兵便在夜間穿過御花園，從兩城牆中間的門逃往亞拉巴。當時迦勒底人仍四面包圍著城。迦勒底軍隊追趕西底迦，在耶利哥平原追上了他，他的軍隊都四散而逃。

他所有的精兵都要喪身刀下，餘下的也要四散逃竄。這樣，你們就知道這是我耶和華說的。

倘若我使刀劍臨到那裡，毀滅人和牲畜，

「主耶和華說，『我要把戰禍、饑荒、猛獸和瘟疫這四大刑罰降在耶路撒冷，毀滅人和牲畜。

因此，你們要清楚知道，你們如果決意去埃及住，必死於戰爭、饑荒和瘟疫。」

你們所害怕的戰爭和饑荒必緊緊地跟著你們。你們必死在埃及。

我要把你們驅散到各國，還要拔刀追殺你們。你們的土地將荒廢，城邑將淪為廢墟。

在你們中間，父親要吃自己的兒子，兒子要吃自己的父親。我必懲罰你們，把你們餘下的人分散到各地各方。」主耶和華說：「因為你們用一切可憎的偶像和惡行玷污我的聖所，我憑我的永恆起誓，我必毫不留情地剷除你們。你們三分之一的人要死於饑荒瘟疫，三分之一的人要死於刀下，我必把其餘的三分之一分散到各地各方，並拔刀追殺他們。
