惟彼心慕可憎可惡之物者、我必依其所行、報於其首、主耶和華言之矣、○

我所痛疾之事、彼仍妄為、我必視其所行、降以重罰、我耶和華已言之矣。

惟彼心從可憎可惡之物者、我必循其行為、施報其身、身原文作首此乃主天主所言、○

But as for those whose hearts are devoted to their vile images and detestable idols, I will bring down on their own heads what they have done, declares the Sovereign Lord.”

But some people have hearts that are committed to worshiping the statues of their evil gods. I hate those gods. Anything that happens to those people will be their own fault,” announces the Lord and King.

But as for those whose heart goes after their detestable things and their abominations, I will bring their deeds upon their own heads, declares the Lord God.”

But as for those who long for vile images and detestable idols, I will repay them fully for their sins. I, the Sovereign Lord, have spoken!”

Rejoice, young person, while you are young, and let your heart be glad in the days of your youth. And walk in the ways of your heart and in the desire of your eyes; but know that for all of these things God will bring you to judgment.

“ I will pronounce my judgments against them for all the evil they did when they abandoned me to burn incense to other gods and to worship the works of their own hands.

So I have poured out my indignation on them and consumed them with the fire of my fury. I have brought their conduct down on their own heads.” This is the declaration of the Lord GOD.

“ When they arrive there, they will remove all its abhorrent acts and detestable practices from it.

Watch out, brothers and sisters, so that there won’t be in any of you an evil, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God.But encourage each other daily, while it is still called today, so that none of you is hardened by sin’s deception.

When you offer your gifts, sacrificing your children in the fire, you still continue to defile yourselves with all your idols today. So should I let you inquire of me, house of Israel? As I live— this is the declaration of the Lord GOD— I will not let you inquire of me!

For from within, out of people’s hearts, come evil thoughts, sexual immoralities, thefts, murders,adulteries, greed, evil actions, deceit, self-indulgence, envy, slander, pride, and foolishness.All these evil things come from within and defile a person.”

I will purge you of those who rebel and transgress against me. I will bring them out of the land where they live as foreign residents, but they will not enter the land of Israel. Then you will know that I am the LORD.

The heart is more deceitful than anything else, and incurable— who can understand it?

These people create divisions and are worldly, not having the Spirit.

Because you did not remember the days of your youth but enraged me with all these things, I will also bring your conduct down on your own head. This is the declaration of the Lord GOD. Haven’t you committed depravity in addition to all your detestable practices?

For long ago I broke your yoke; I tore off your chains. You insisted,“ I will not serve!” On every high hill and under every green tree you lay down like a prostitute.

But my righteous one will live by faith; and if he draws back, I have no pleasure in him.

But each person is tempted when he is drawn away and enticed by his own evil desire.Then after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin, and when sin is fully grown, it gives birth to death.

But this is what the LORD says concerning the king sitting on David’s throne and concerning all the people living in this city— that is, concerning your brothers who did not go with you into exile.This is what the LORD of Armies says:“ I am about to send sword, famine, and plague against them, and I will make them like rotten figs that are inedible because they are so bad.I will pursue them with sword, famine, and plague. I will make them a horror to all the kingdoms of the earth— a curse and a desolation, an object of scorn and a disgrace among all the nations where I have banished them.I will do this because they have not listened to my words”— this is the LORD’s declaration—“ the words that I sent to them with my servants the prophets time and time again. And you too have not listened.” This is the LORD’s declaration.
