Now as I was prophesying, Pelatiah son of Benaiah died. Then I fell facedown and cried out in a loud voice,“ Alas, Sovereign Lord! Will you completely destroy the remnant of Israel?”

余傳命之時、庇拿雅子比喇底死、予俯伏於地、大聲呼曰、耶和華與、豈欲翦滅以色列族、靡有孑遺乎。

Pelatiah, the son of Benaiah, died as I was prophesying. Then I fell with my face toward the ground. I cried out in a loud voice. I said,“ Lord and King, will you destroy all the Israelites who are still left alive?”

And it came to pass, while I was prophesying, that Pelatiah the son of Benaiah died. Then I fell down on my face and cried out with a loud voice and said,“ Ah, Lord God! Will you make a full end of the remnant of Israel?”

While I was still prophesying, Pelatiah son of Benaiah suddenly died. Then I fell face down on the ground and cried out,“ O Sovereign Lord, are you going to kill everyone in Israel?”

Now while I was prophesying, Pelatiah son of Benaiah died. Then I fell facedown and cried out loudly,“ Oh, Lord GOD! You are bringing the remnant of Israel to an end!”

Now it came about, as I prophesied, that Pelatiah son of Benaiah died. Then I fell on my face and cried out with a loud voice, and said,“ Oh, Lord God! Will You bring the remnant of Israel to a complete destruction?”

Now it happened, while I was prophesying, that Pelatiah the son of Benaiah died. Then I fell on my face and cried with a loud voice, and said,“ Ah, Lord GOD! Will You make a complete end of the remnant of Israel?”

And it came to pass, when I prophesied, that Pelatiah the son of Benaiah died. Then fell I down upon my face, and cried with a loud voice, and said, Ah Lord Jehovah! wilt thou make a full end of the remnant of Israel?

Now while I was prophesying, Pelatiah son of Benaiah died. Then I fell facedown and cried out with a loud voice:“ Oh, Lord God! Will You bring to an end the remnant of Israel?”

And it came to pass, when I prophesied, that Pelatiah the son of Benaiah died. Then fell I down upon my face, and cried with a loud voice, and said, Ah Lord GOD! wilt thou make a full end of the remnant of Israel?

Now, while I was prophesying, Pelatiah son of Benaiah died. Then I threw myself face down and cried out with a loud voice,“ Alas, sovereign LORD! You are completely wiping out the remnant of Israel!”

When I prophesied, Pelatiah the son of Benaiah died. Then I fell down on my face, and cried with a loud voice, and said,“ Ah Lord Yahweh! Will you make a full end of the remnant of Israel?”

Then the Spirit lifted me up and brought me to the gate of the house of the Lord that faces east. There at the entrance of the gate were twenty-five men, and I saw among them Jaazaniah son of Azzur and Pelatiah son of Benaiah, leaders of the people.

While they were killing and I was left alone, I fell facedown, crying out,“ Alas, Sovereign Lord! Are you going to destroy the entire remnant of Israel in this outpouring of your wrath on Jerusalem?”

When Ananias heard this, he fell down and died. And great fear seized all who heard what had happened.

My flesh trembles in fear of you; I stand in awe of your laws.

So he said he would destroy them— had not Moses, his chosen one, stood in the breach before him to keep his wrath from destroying them.

for they will turn your children away from following me to serve other gods, and the Lord’s anger will burn against you and will quickly destroy you.

Therefore disaster will overtake him in an instant; he will suddenly be destroyed— without remedy.

When they had stripped the land clean, I cried out,“ Sovereign Lord, forgive! How can Jacob survive? He is so small!”

Now the hand of the Lord is against you. You are going to be blind for a time, not even able to see the light of the sun.” Immediately mist and darkness came over him, and he groped about, seeking someone to lead him by the hand.

Then Joshua tore his clothes and fell facedown to the ground before the ark of the Lord, remaining there till evening. The elders of Israel did the same, and sprinkled dust on their heads.And Joshua said,“ Alas, Sovereign Lord, why did you ever bring this people across the Jordan to deliver us into the hands of the Amorites to destroy us? If only we had been content to stay on the other side of the Jordan!Pardon your servant, Lord. What can I say, now that Israel has been routed by its enemies?The Canaanites and the other people of the country will hear about this and they will surround us and wipe out our name from the earth. What then will you do for your own great name?”

David looked up and saw the angel of the Lord standing between heaven and earth, with a drawn sword in his hand extended over Jerusalem. Then David and the elders, clothed in sackcloth, fell facedown.David said to God,“ Was it not I who ordered the fighting men to be counted? I, the shepherd, have sinned and done wrong. These are but sheep. What have they done? Lord my God, let your hand fall on me and my family, but do not let this plague remain on your people.”

Then I cried out,“ Sovereign Lord, I beg you, stop! How can Jacob survive? He is so small!”

So I prophesied as I was commanded. And as I was prophesying, there was a noise, a rattling sound, and the bones came together, bone to bone.

Then the prophet Jeremiah said to Hananiah the prophet,“ Listen, Hananiah! The Lord has not sent you, yet you have persuaded this nation to trust in lies.Therefore this is what the Lord says:‘ I am about to remove you from the face of the earth. This very year you are going to die, because you have preached rebellion against the Lord.’”In the seventh month of that same year, Hananiah the prophet died.

At that moment she fell down at his feet and died. Then the young men came in and, finding her dead, carried her out and buried her beside her husband.

I, the Lord, have spoken, and I will surely do these things to this whole wicked community, which has banded together against me. They will meet their end in this wilderness; here they will die.”So the men Moses had sent to explore the land, who returned and made the whole community grumble against him by spreading a bad report about it—these men who were responsible for spreading the bad report about the land were struck down and died of a plague before the Lord.

Then once again I fell prostrate before the Lord for forty days and forty nights; I ate no bread and drank no water, because of all the sin you had committed, doing what was evil in the Lord’s sight and so arousing his anger.I feared the anger and wrath of the Lord, for he was angry enough with you to destroy you. But again the Lord listened to me.

Therefore I cut you in pieces with my prophets, I killed you with the words of my mouth— then my judgments go forth like the sun.

When King Jeroboam heard what the man of God cried out against the altar at Bethel, he stretched out his hand from the altar and said,“ Seize him!” But the hand he stretched out toward the man shriveled up, so that he could not pull it back.
