These were the living creatures that I saw underneath the God of Israel by the Chebar canal; and I knew that they were cherubim.

Over the heads of the living creatures there was the likeness of an expanse, shining like awe-inspiring crystal, spread out above their heads.And under the expanse their wings were stretched out straight, one toward another. And each creature had two wings covering its body.And when they went, I heard the sound of their wings like the sound of many waters, like the sound of the Almighty, a sound of tumult like the sound of an army. When they stood still, they let down their wings.And there came a voice from above the expanse over their heads. And downward from what had the appearance of his waist I saw as it were the appearance of fire, and there was brightness around him.Like the appearance of the bow that is in the cloud on the day of rain, so was the appearance of the brightness all around. Such was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the Lord. And when I saw it, I fell on my face, and I heard the voice of one speaking.

Around all the walls of the house he carved engraved figures of cherubim and palm trees and open flowers, in the inner and outer rooms.The floor of the house he overlaid with gold in the inner and outer rooms.For the entrance to the inner sanctuary he made doors of olivewood; the lintel and the doorposts were five-sided.He covered the two doors of olivewood with carvings of cherubim, palm trees, and open flowers. He overlaid them with gold and spread gold on the cherubim and on the palm trees.So also he made for the entrance to the nave doorposts of olivewood, in the form of a square,and two doors of cypress wood. The two leaves of the one door were folding, and the two leaves of the other door were folding.On them he carved cherubim and palm trees and open flowers, and he overlaid them with gold evenly applied on the carved work.
