Then the glory of the Lord departed from the threshold of the temple and stood over the cherubim.

耶和華之榮煌、離殿門、覆𠼻𡀔［口氷］上、

主之榮光遂離殿之門閾、臨於基路伯上、

Then the glory of the Lord departed from over the threshold of the temple and stopped above the cherubim.

Then the glory of the Lord moved away from the doorway of the temple. It stopped above the cherubim.

Then the glory of the Lord went out from the threshold of the house, and stood over the cherubim.

Then the glory of the Lord moved out from the entrance of the Temple and hovered above the cherubim.

Yahweh’s glory went out from over the threshold of the house, and stood over the cherubim.

And He rode upon a cherub, and flew; He flew upon the wings of the wind.

The chariots of God are twenty thousand, Even thousands of thousands; The Lord is among them as in Sinai, in the Holy Place.You have ascended on high, You have led captivity captive; You have received gifts among men, Even from the rebellious, That the Lord God might dwell there.

So that He forsook the tabernacle of Shiloh, The tent He had placed among men,And delivered His strength into captivity, And His glory into the enemy’s hand.

So He drove out the man; and He placed cherubim at the east of the garden of Eden, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to guard the way to the tree of life.

Now the cherubim were standing on the south side of the temple when the man went in, and the cloud filled the inner court.Then the glory of the Lord went up from the cherub, and paused over the threshold of the temple; and the house was filled with the cloud, and the court was full of the brightness of the LORD’s glory.

“ O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the one who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing!See! Your house is left to you desolate;for I say to you, you shall see Me no more till you say,‘ Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!’”

‘ As for the beauty of his ornaments, He set it in majesty; But they made from it The images of their abominations— Their detestable things; Therefore I have made it Like refuse to them.I will give it as plunder Into the hands of strangers, And to the wicked of the earth as spoil; And they shall defile it.I will turn My face from them, And they will defile My secret place; For robbers shall enter it and defile it.

Though they bring up their children, Yet I will bereave them to the last man. Yes, woe to them when I depart from them!

“ But go now to My place which was in Shiloh, where I set My name at the first, and see what I did to it because of the wickedness of My people Israel.And now, because you have done all these works,” says the Lord,“ and I spoke to you, rising up early and speaking, but you did not hear, and I called you, but you did not answer,therefore I will do to the house which is called by My name, in which you trust, and to this place which I gave to you and your fathers, as I have done to Shiloh.

Be instructed, O Jerusalem, Lest My soul depart from you; Lest I make you desolate, A land not inhabited.”

Then it happened, as they continued on and talked, that suddenly a chariot of fire appeared with horses of fire, and separated the two of them; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.
