我若舉手以疫癘懲爾及爾民、則爾早滅於世、

For by now I could have stretched out my hand and struck you and your people with a plague that would have wiped you off the earth.

By now I could have reached out my hand. I could have struck you and your people with a plague that would have wiped you off the earth.

By now I could have lifted my hand and struck you and your people with a plague to wipe you off the face of the earth.

第二天，耶和華就這樣行了，埃及的牲畜都死了，但以色列人的牲畜一頭也沒死。

我讓你活到現在，是為了向你彰顯我的權能，使我的名傳遍天下。

我就會使你田間所有的牲畜，包括馬、驢、駱駝和牛羊，都染上嚴重的瘟疫。

海水回流，法老的戰車和人馬都淹沒在大海之中，全軍覆沒。

摩西說：「耶和華說，『今晚半夜，我要走遍埃及。埃及境內，從坐王位的法老的長子到推磨的女奴的長子，以及所有頭生的牲畜，都必死亡。那時整個埃及必充滿悲慘的哭號聲，慘況空前絕後。

惡人必遭滅絕，奸徒必被剷除。

到了半夜，耶和華把所有埃及人的長子都殺了，包括坐王位的法老的長子、牢中囚犯的長子和一切頭生的牲畜。晚上，法老及其臣僕和所有埃及人都驚醒了，到處都是哭號聲，因為沒有一家不死人的。

這罪使耶羅波安家走向沒落，最終徹底滅亡。
