海水回流，法老的战车和人马都淹没在大海之中，全军覆没。

摩西说：“耶和华说，‘今晚半夜，我要走遍埃及。埃及境内，从坐王位的法老的长子到推磨的女奴的长子，以及所有头生的牲畜，都必死亡。那时整个埃及必充满悲惨的哭号声，惨况空前绝后。

恶人必遭灭绝，奸徒必被铲除。

到了半夜，耶和华把所有埃及人的长子都杀了，包括坐王位的法老的长子、牢中囚犯的长子和一切头生的牲畜。晚上，法老及其臣仆和所有埃及人都惊醒了，到处都是哭号声，因为没有一家不死人的。

这罪使耶罗波安家走向没落，最终彻底灭亡。
