於是王所有的智慧人都進前來，他們卻不能讀那文字，也不能為王講解它的意思。

到了早晨，法老心裏不安，就派人把埃及所有的術士和智慧人都召來。法老把所做的夢告訴他們，但是沒有人能為法老解夢。

你的智慧人在哪裏？萬軍之耶和華向埃及所定的旨意，他們既然知道，就讓他們告訴你吧！

耶穌對他們說：「我看見撒但從天上墜落，像閃電一樣。

迦勒底人回答王說：「世上沒有人能解釋王的事情；從來沒有君王、大臣、掌權者向術士、巫師，或迦勒底人問過這樣的事。王所問的事很難，除了不與血肉之軀同住的上帝，沒有人能在王面前解釋。」

儘管使用從幼年就施行的魔符和眾多的邪術吧！或許有些幫助，或許可以致勝。你籌劃太多，以致疲倦。讓那些觀天象，看星宿，在初一說預言的都起來，救你脫離所要臨到你的事！

於是那些術士、巫師、迦勒底人、觀兆的都進來，我將那夢告訴他們，他們卻不能把夢的解釋告訴我。

從前雅尼和佯庇怎樣反對摩西，這等人也怎樣抵擋真理；他們的心地敗壞，信仰經不起考驗。然而，他們沒有進步，因為他們的愚昧必在眾人面前顯露出來，像那兩人一樣。
