法老心里刚硬，不肯听从摩西、亚伦，正如耶和华所说的。耶和华对摩西说：“法老心里固执，不肯容百姓去。

耶和华对摩西说：“你回到埃及的时候，要留意将我指示你的一切奇事行在法老面前。但我要使他的心刚硬，他必不容百姓去。

经上说：“你们今日若听他的话，就不可硬着心，像惹他发怒的日子一样。”

就不可硬着心，像在旷野惹他发怒、试探他的时候一样。

有人告诉埃及王说：“百姓逃跑。”法老和他的臣仆就向百姓变心，说：“我们容以色列人去，不再服侍我们，这做的是什么事呢？”

他们却不肯听从，扭转肩头，塞耳不听，使心硬如金钢石，不听律法和万军之耶和华用灵藉从前的先知所说的话。故此，万军之耶和华大发烈怒。

人屡次受责罚，仍然硬着颈项；他必顷刻败坏，无法可治。

人被大热所烤，就亵渎那有权掌管这些灾的神之名，并不悔改将荣耀归给神。

主说：“以法莲哪，我可向你怎样行呢？犹大啊，我可向你怎样做呢？因为你们的良善如同早晨的云雾，又如速散的甘露。
