可是，法老的巫师也一样用邪术使水变成血。法老的心仍然刚硬，不肯听从摩西和亚伦的话，正如耶和华所言。

巫师也行邪术如法炮制，叫青蛙上来。

早上法老心中不安，就派人召来埃及所有的术士和博学之士，把梦告诉他们，可是没有一个人能为他解梦。

现在这些人敌对真理，就像从前雅尼和佯庇反对摩西一样，他们的心思坏透了，他们的信仰是虚假的。

巫师们也试图用邪术变出虱子来，却无法成功。埃及的百姓和牲畜身上长满了虱子。

便派人召来术士、巫师、行法术的和占星家，为他解梦。他们都来到王面前。

他来要按照撒旦的伎俩行各样虚假的异能、神迹和奇事，

这样，我们就不再像小孩子，被各种异端邪说之风吹得飘来飘去，被人的阴谋诡计欺骗，随波逐流。

他大声传令，召来巫师、占星家和占卜者，对这些巴比伦的智者说：“谁能读墙上的字，把意思告诉我，他必身穿紫袍，颈戴金链，在国中位居第三。”

我又看见另一只怪兽从地里窜出来，它的两只角像羔羊的角，说话却像龙，在头一只怪兽面前行使头一只怪兽的一切权柄。它命令世上的人拜曾受了致命伤但已复原的头一只怪兽，又行大奇迹，当众叫火从天降到地上。它在头一只怪兽面前获准行奇迹，欺骗了普世的人，并吩咐他们为受了刀伤却仍然活着的头一只怪兽塑像。它又获准给怪兽的塑像生命气息，使它不但能说话，还能使所有不敬拜那像的人遭害。

因为假基督和假先知将出现，行很大的神迹奇事来迷惑人，如果可能，甚至要迷惑上帝拣选的子民。

法老对臣仆说：“我们哪里找像这样有上帝的灵同在的人呢？”法老对约瑟说：“上帝既然把梦的意思指示给你，可见没人有你这样的见识和智慧。

无知的加拉太人啊！谁又迷惑了你们呢？耶稣基督被钉在十字架上的事早就像一幅画一样展现在你们眼前了。

但以理回答说：“没有智者、术士、巫师或占星家可以解答王所问的奥秘，

术士、巫师、占星家和占卜者都来了，我将梦告诉他们，他们却不能给我解梦。最后但以理来到我面前，他又名伯提沙撒——取自我神明的名，他有圣洁神明的灵。我将梦告诉他，说，‘术士的首领伯提沙撒啊，我知道你有圣洁神明的灵，任何奥秘都难不倒你。请你为我解释我梦中所见的异象。

“你自幼就勤练符咒和五花八门的邪术，继续施展吧！也许会有用处，也许会令人害怕。众多的计谋使你疲惫不堪，让那些观天象、每月说预言的占星家来救你脱离将临的灾祸吧！

你国中有一个人，他有圣洁神明的灵。先王在世时，曾发现他有神明一样的灼见、悟性和智慧。先王尼布甲尼撒立他为术士、巫师、占星家和占卜者的首领。

埃及王聪明的谋士——琐安的首领们变得愚不可及。他们怎敢在埃及王面前自称是古圣先贤的子孙呢？埃及王啊，你的智者在哪里呢？让他们把万军之耶和华对付埃及的计划告诉你吧！

“如果你们中间出现了先知或解梦的人，要显神迹奇事给你们看，劝你们随从、供奉素不认识的神明，即使他们显的神迹奇事应验了，你们也不可听从他们。因为这是你们的上帝耶和华在试验你们，要看看你们是否全心全意地爱祂。

后来，怪兽被俘虏了，在怪兽面前行奇迹的假先知也一同被擒了。这假先知曾用奇迹欺骗那些盖了兽印、敬拜兽像的人。他和怪兽一同被活活地扔进硫磺火湖里。
