I appeared to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob as God Almighty, but I was not known to them by my name‘ the LORD.’

I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac and to Jacob as God Almighty, but by my name the Lord I did not make myself fully known to them.

I appeared to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob as the Mighty God. But I did not show them the full meaning of my name, The Lord.

When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the LORD appeared to him, saying,“ I am God Almighty. Live in my presence and be blameless.

The LORD appeared to Abram and said,“ To your offspring I will give this land.” So he built an altar there to the LORD who had appeared to him.From there he moved on to the hill country east of Bethel and pitched his tent, with Bethel on the west and Ai on the east. He built an altar to the LORD there, and he called on the name of the LORD.

This is what the LORD, the King of Israel and its Redeemer, the LORD of Armies, says: I am the first and I am the last. There is no God but me.

So now what have I here”— this is the LORD’s declaration—“ that my people are taken away for nothing? Its rulers wail”— this is the LORD’s declaration—“ and my name is continually blasphemed all day long.Therefore my people will know my name; therefore they will know on that day that I am he who says,‘ Here I am.’”

So Abram moved his tent and went to live near the oaks of Mamre at Hebron, where he built an altar to the LORD.

I am the LORD. That is my name, and I will not give my glory to another or my praise to idols.

May God Almighty bless you and make you fruitful and multiply you so that you become an assembly of peoples.

And Abraham named that place The LORD Will Provide, so today it is said,“ It will be provided on the LORD’s mountain.”
