Ye shall no more give the people straw to make brick, as heretofore: let them go and gather straw for themselves.

『你們再別將草給人民作磚、像素常那樣了；叫他們去給自己撿草。

厥後斯民陶瓦、勿如疇昔給之以草、使往自斂、

厥後此族陶瓦、毋仍給蒭、使往自斂。

此民作磚、爾勿如昔給之禾稈、使往自斂、

“ You are no longer to supply the people with straw for making bricks; let them go and gather their own straw.

He said,“ Don’t give the people any more straw to make bricks. Let them go and get their own straw.

“ You shall no longer give the people straw to make bricks, as in the past; let them go and gather straw for themselves.

“ Do not supply any more straw for making bricks. Make the people get it themselves!

“ Don’t continue to supply the people with straw for making bricks, as before. They must go and gather straw for themselves.

“ You are no longer to give the people straw to make bricks as previously; have them go and gather straw for themselves.
