The Lord said,“ Throw it on the ground.” Moses threw it on the ground and it became a snake, and he ran from it.

The Lord said,“ Throw it on the ground.” So Moses threw it on the ground. It turned into a snake. He ran away from it.

And he said,“ Throw it on the ground.” So he threw it on the ground, and it became a serpent, and Moses ran from it.

“ Throw it down on the ground,” the Lord told him. So Moses threw down the staff, and it turned into a snake! Moses jumped back.

“ Throw it on the ground,” he said. So Moses threw it on the ground, it became a snake, and he ran from it.

Then He said,“ Throw it on the ground.” So he threw it on the ground, and it turned into a serpent; and Moses fled from it.

And He said,“ Cast it on the ground.” so he cast it on the ground, and it became a serpent; and Moses fled from it.

And he said, Cast in on the ground. And he cast it on the ground, and it became a serpent; and Moses fled from before it.

Then He said,“ Throw it on the ground.” He threw it on the ground, and it became a snake. Moses ran from it,

The LORD said,“ Throw it to the ground.” So he threw it to the ground, and it became a snake, and Moses ran from it.

It will be as though a man fled from a lion only to meet a bear, as though he entered his house and rested his hand on the wall only to have a snake bite him. (niv)

But take this staff in your hand so you can perform the signs with it.” (niv)

So Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh and did just as the Lord commanded. Aaron threw his staff down in front of Pharaoh and his officials, and it became a snake.Pharaoh then summoned wise men and sorcerers, and the Egyptian magicians also did the same things by their secret arts:Each one threw down his staff and it became a snake. But Aaron’s staff swallowed up their staffs.Yet Pharaoh’s heart became hard and he would not listen to them, just as the Lord had said.Then the Lord said to Moses,“ Pharaoh’s heart is unyielding; he refuses to let the people go.Go to Pharaoh in the morning as he goes out to the river. Confront him on the bank of the Nile, and take in your hand the staff that was changed into a snake. (niv)
