But Moses pleaded with the Lord,“ O Lord, I’m not very good with words. I never have been, and I’m not now, even though you have spoken to me. I get tongue tied, and my words get tangled.”

摩西对耶和华说：“主啊，我素日不是能言的人，就是从你对仆人说话以后，也是这样。我本是拙口笨舌的。”

摩西对耶和华说：“主啊，求求你，我并不是一个能言善道的人，以前这样，就是你对仆人说话以后也是这样，因为我是拙口笨舌的。”

摩西对耶和华说：“主啊，求求你，我并不是一个能言善道的人，以前这样，就是你对仆人说话以后也是这样，因为我是拙口笨舌的。”

摩西对耶和华说：“主啊！我向来不善言辞，即使你对仆人说话以后，我还是不善言辞，因为我是个拙口笨舌的人。”

摩西对耶和华说：“主啊，我不是个会说话的人；以前不是，自从你对仆人说话以后也不是；因为我本是拙口笨舌的。”

摩西對永恆主說：『主啊，我不是善於說話的人：昨天不是，前天不是，從你對僕人說話時以後也不是；因為我本是口舌遲鈍的。』

摩西對曰、主歟、我素無才辯、爾語僕之後亦然、訥於口、鈍於舌、

摩西籲耶和華曰、我主、自昔迄今爾命我之時、我無能措辭、拙於口病於舌。

摩西對主曰、我主歟、僕素非能言者、自主命僕之後亦然、我乃拙於口拙於舌者、

Moses said to the Lord,“ Pardon your servant, Lord. I have never been eloquent, neither in the past nor since you have spoken to your servant. I am slow of speech and tongue.”

Moses spoke to the Lord. He said,“ Lord, I’ve never been a good speaker. And I haven’t gotten any better since you spoke to me. I don’t speak very well at all.”

But Moses said to the Lord,“ Oh, my Lord, I am not eloquent, either in the past or since you have spoken to your servant, but I am slow of speech and of tongue.”

But Moses replied to the LORD,“ Please, Lord, I have never been eloquent— either in the past or recently or since you have been speaking to your servant— because my mouth and my tongue are sluggish.”

Then Moses said to the Lord,“ Please, Lord, I have never been eloquent, neither recently nor in time past, nor since You have spoken to Your servant; for I am slow of speech and slow of tongue.”

Then Moses said to the Lord,“ O my Lord, I am not eloquent, neither before nor since You have spoken to Your servant; but I am slow of speech and slow of tongue.”

And Moses said unto Jehovah, Oh, Lord, I am not eloquent, neither heretofore, nor since thou hast spoken unto thy servant; for I am slow of speech, and of a slow tongue.

But Moses replied to the Lord,“ Please, Lord, I have never been eloquent— either in the past or recently or since You have been speaking to Your servant— because I am slow and hesitant in speech.”

And Moses said unto the LORD, O my Lord, I[ am] not eloquent, neither heretofore, nor since thou hast spoken unto thy servant: but I[ am] slow of speech, and of a slow tongue.

Then Moses said to the LORD,“ O my Lord, I am not an eloquent man, neither in the past nor since you have spoken to your servant, for I am slow of speech and slow of tongue.”

Moses said to Yahweh,“ O Lord, I am not eloquent, neither before now, nor since you have spoken to your servant; for I am slow of speech, and of a slow tongue.”

“ But Lord!” Moses objected.“ My own people won’t listen to me anymore. How can I expect Pharaoh to listen? I’m such a clumsy speaker!”

“ O Sovereign Lord,” I said,“ I can’t speak for you! I’m too young!”

I may be unskilled as a speaker, but I’m not lacking in knowledge. We have made this clear to you in every possible way.

But Moses protested again,“ What if they won’t believe me or listen to me? What if they say,‘ The Lord never appeared to you’?”

Moses was taught all the wisdom of the Egyptians, and he was powerful in both speech and action.

“ You people really know everything, don’t you? And when you die, wisdom will die with you!

When I first came to you, dear brothers and sisters, I didn’t use lofty words and impressive wisdom to tell you God’s secret plan.For I decided that while I was with you I would forget everything except Jesus Christ, the one who was crucified.I came to you in weakness— timid and trembling.And my message and my preaching were very plain. Rather than using clever and persuasive speeches, I relied only on the power of the Holy Spirit.

For some say,“ Paul’s letters are demanding and forceful, but in person he is weak, and his speeches are worthless!”
