他是但族女子中一個婦人的兒子；他父親是推羅人，他精於製作金、銀、銅、鐵、石、木、和紫紅色、藍紫色線、細麻、和大紅色線，又能作各樣的刻工，能巧設交給他作的各樣圖案，同你的巧匠和我主你父大衛的巧匠一起工作。

一切美好的施與和各樣完美的恩賞、都是從上頭、從眾光之父降下來的；在他並沒有變換或轉動之陰影。

永恆主的靈必住在他身上，就是智慧和明達之靈，謀略和能力之靈，認識和敬畏永恆主的靈。他也樂聞敬畏永恆主的香氣。他行審判、不憑眼見，他斷是非，不憑耳聞；他憑義氣為貧寒人申正義，以正直判斷國中的困苦人；他以口中的杖擊打強橫人，以嘴裏的氣殺死惡人。公義必做他腰間的圍帶，忠信必做他脅下的束巾。

在基督裏面乃包蘊着一切智慧知識之寶藏。

恩賜雖分了多種多樣，靈卻是同一的；服役職事雖分了多種多樣，主卻是同一的；「效力」雖分了多種多樣，上帝卻是同一的；是他在萬人裏面以動力運行萬事的。不過各人稟受靈之表顯、是要有益於人的。有人藉着靈、稟受智慧的話；另有人依這同一的靈稟受知識的話；另有別人本着這同一的靈稟受深信之心；另有人本着這獨一的靈稟受行醫的恩賜；另有人稟受異能的效力；另有人稟受神言傳講的才能；另有人稟受辨別諸靈的能力；另有別人稟受種種的捲舌頭話；又另有人對捲舌頭話稟受解明的才能：

主永恆主的靈在我身上；因為永恆主用膏油膏了我，叫我傳好信息給困苦的人，差遣我去綁紮心裏破碎的，給被擄的宣告自由，給被囚的宣告開釋，宣告永恆主悅納人的年頭，我們的上帝替人伸冤的日子，來安慰一切悲哀的人，分派給錫安悲哀的人，賜給他們華帽以代替爐灰，喜樂油以代替悲哀，頌讚之披風以代替暗淡沮喪之靈，使他們稱為義氣之篤耨香，是永恆主所栽種，以使自己得榮美的。

因為他的上帝教導他，將對的方法指教他。
