他是但支派一個婦人的兒子，他的父親是推羅人。他精於使用金、銀、銅、鐵、石、木，以及紫色藍色朱紅色線和細麻作工，也能作各樣雕刻的工作，又能設計各樣交託他們的巧工。這人可以和你的巧匠，以及我主你父親大衛的巧匠一同工作。

各樣美好的賞賜，各樣完備的恩賜，都是從上面、從眾光之父降下來的，他本身並沒有改變，也沒有轉動的影子。

耶和華的靈必停留在他身上，就是智慧的靈和聰明的靈，謀略的靈和能力的靈，知識的靈和敬畏耶和華的靈。他必以敬畏耶和華為樂。他不憑眼睛所見的施行審判，也不憑耳朵所聽的斷定是非；卻要以公義審判貧窮人，以正直判斷地上的困苦人；以口中的杖擊打世界，以嘴裡的氣殺死惡人。公義必作他腰間的帶子，信實必作他脅下的帶子。

一切智慧和知識的寶庫都蘊藏在基督裡面。

恩賜有許多種，卻是同一位聖靈所賜的；服事的職分有許多種，但是同一位主；工作的方式也有許多種，但仍是一位神，是他在眾人裡面作成一切。聖靈顯現在各人的身上，為的是要使人得著益處。有人藉著聖靈領受了智慧的言語，又有人靠著同一位聖靈領受了知識的言語，又有人因著同一位聖靈領受了信心，還有人因著這位聖靈領受了醫病的恩賜，另有人可以行神蹟，另有人可以講道，另有人可以辨別諸靈，也有人能說各種的方言，也有人能翻譯方言。

主耶和華的靈在我身上，因為耶和華膏了我，叫我傳福音給困苦的人；差遣我去醫治傷心的人，向被擄的宣告自由，向被囚的宣告釋放；宣告耶和華悅納人的禧年，和我們的神報仇的日子；安慰悲哀的人，為錫安悲哀的人穿上裝飾，賜給他們華冠代替灰塵，喜樂油代替悲哀，讚美衣代替沮喪的靈，他們必稱為公義的橡樹，是耶和華栽種的，好使他自己得著榮耀。

因為他的神教導他，指教他正確的方法。
