I said, Yahweh, the God of heaven, the great and awe-inspiring God who keeps His gracious covenant with those who love Him and keep His commands,

But Joshua told the people,“ You will not be able to worship Yahweh, because He is a holy God. He is a jealous God; He will not remove your transgressions and sins.

The Lord examines the righteous and the wicked. He hates the lover of violence.He will rain burning coals and sulfur on the wicked; a scorching wind will be their portion.

But You, Lord, are a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger and rich in faithful love and truth.

Or do you despise the riches of His kindness, restraint, and patience, not recognizing that God’s kindness is intended to lead you to repentance?But because of your hardness and unrepentant heart you are storing up wrath for yourself in the day of wrath, when God’s righteous judgment is revealed.He will repay each one according to his works:eternal life to those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor, and immortality;but wrath and indignation to those who are self-seeking and disobey the truth but are obeying unrighteousness;affliction and distress for every human being who does evil, first to the Jew, and also to the Greek;

Vengeance belongs to Me; I will repay. In time their foot will slip, for their day of disaster is near, and their doom is coming quickly.”

Who can withstand His indignation? Who can endure His burning anger? His wrath is poured out like fire, even rocks are shattered before Him.

And what if God, desiring to display His wrath and to make His power known, endured with much patience objects of wrath ready for destruction?And what if He did this to make known the riches of His glory on objects of mercy that He prepared beforehand for glory—

Be attentive to him and listen to his voice. Do not defy him, because he will not forgive your acts of rebellion, for My name is in him.

Speak up and present your case— yes, let them take counsel together. Who predicted this long ago? Who announced it from ancient times? Was it not I, Yahweh? There is no other God but Me, a righteous God and Savior; there is no one except Me.

Can I excuse wicked scales or bags of deceptive weights?

Who is a God like You, removing iniquity and passing over rebellion for the remnant of His inheritance? He does not hold on to His anger forever, because He delights in faithful love.

God exalted this man to His right hand as ruler and Savior, to grant repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.

He struck the firstborn of the Egyptians His love is eternal.

Therefore, let it be known to you, brothers, that through this man forgiveness of sins is being proclaimed to you,

“ For if you forgive people their wrongdoing, your heavenly Father will forgive you as well.But if you don’t forgive people, your Father will not forgive your wrongdoing.

Because of this, I tell you, people will be forgiven every sin and blasphemy, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven.
