The Lord passed in front of Moses, calling out,“ Yahweh! The Lord! The God of compassion and mercy! I am slow to anger and filled with unfailing love and faithfulness.

And he passed in front of Moses, proclaiming,“ The Lord, the Lord, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, abounding in love and faithfulness,

As he passed in front of Moses, he called out. He said,“ I am the Lord, the Lord. I am the God who is tender and kind. I am gracious. I am slow to get angry. I am faithful and full of love.

The Lord passed before him and proclaimed,“ The Lord, the Lord, a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness,

The LORD passed in front of him and proclaimed: The LORD— the LORD is a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger and abounding in faithful love and truth,

Then the Lord passed by in front of him and proclaimed,“ The Lord, the Lord God, compassionate and merciful, slow to anger, and abounding in faithfulness and truth;

And the Lord passed before him and proclaimed,“ The Lord, the Lord God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abounding in goodness and truth,

And Jehovah passed by before him, and proclaimed, Jehovah, Jehovah, a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abundant in lovingkindness and truth,

Then the Lord passed in front of him and proclaimed: Yahweh— Yahweh is a compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger and rich in faithful love and truth,

And the LORD passed by before him, and proclaimed, The LORD, The LORD God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth,

The LORD passed by before him and proclaimed:“ The LORD, the LORD, the compassionate and gracious God, slow to anger, and abounding in loyal love and faithfulness,

Yahweh passed by before him, and proclaimed,“ Yahweh! Yahweh, a merciful and gracious God, slow to anger, and abundant in loving kindness and truth,

Don’t tear your clothing in your grief, but tear your hearts instead.” Return to the Lord your God, for he is merciful and compassionate, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love. He is eager to relent and not punish.

But you, O Lord, are a God of compassion and mercy, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love and faithfulness.

The Lord is compassionate and merciful, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love.He will not constantly accuse us, nor remain angry forever.He does not punish us for all our sins; he does not deal harshly with us, as we deserve.For his unfailing love toward those who fear him is as great as the height of the heavens above the earth.He has removed our sins as far from us as the east is from the west.The Lord is like a father to his children, tender and compassionate to those who fear him.

The Lord is merciful and compassionate, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love.

They refused to obey and did not remember the miracles you had done for them. Instead, they became stubborn and appointed a leader to take them back to their slavery in Egypt. But you are a God of forgiveness, gracious and merciful, slow to become angry, and rich in unfailing love. You did not abandon them,

“ Please, Lord, prove that your power is as great as you have claimed. For you said,‘ The Lord is slow to anger and filled with unfailing love, forgiving every kind of sin and rebellion. But he does not excuse the guilty. He lays the sins of the parents upon their children; the entire family is affected— even children in the third and fourth generations.’In keeping with your magnificent, unfailing love, please pardon the sins of this people, just as you have forgiven them ever since they left Egypt.”

So he complained to the Lord about it:“ Didn’t I say before I left home that you would do this, Lord? That is why I ran away to Tarshish! I knew that you are a merciful and compassionate God, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love. You are eager to turn back from destroying people.

O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive, so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help.

“ For if you return to the Lord, your relatives and your children will be treated mercifully by their captors, and they will be able to return to this land. For the Lord your God is gracious and merciful. If you return to him, he will not continue to turn his face from you.”

Where is another God like you, who pardons the guilt of the remnant, overlooking the sins of his special people? You will not stay angry with your people forever, because you delight in showing unfailing love.

I bow before your holy Temple as I worship. I praise your name for your unfailing love and faithfulness; for your promises are backed by all the honor of your name.

Don’t you see how wonderfully kind, tolerant, and patient God is with you? Does this mean nothing to you? Can’t you see that his kindness is intended to turn you from your sin?

For your unfailing love is higher than the heavens. Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds.

He is so rich in kindness and grace that he purchased our freedom with the blood of his Son and forgave our sins.He has showered his kindness on us, along with all wisdom and understanding.

How kind the Lord is! How good he is! So merciful, this God of ours!

He causes us to remember his wonderful works. How gracious and merciful is our Lord!

But I lavish unfailing love for a thousand generations on those who love me and obey my commands.

Light shines in the darkness for the godly. They are generous, compassionate, and righteous.

This coat may be the only blanket your neighbor has. How can a person sleep without it? If you do not return it and your neighbor cries out to me for help, then I will hear, for I am merciful.

You will show us your faithfulness and unfailing love as you promised to our ancestors Abraham and Jacob long ago.

For your unfailing love is as high as the heavens. Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds.

But Moses protested,“ If I go to the people of Israel and tell them,‘ The God of your ancestors has sent me to you,’ they will ask me,‘ What is his name?’ Then what should I tell them?”God replied to Moses,“ I Am Who I Am. Say this to the people of Israel: I Am has sent me to you.”God also said to Moses,“ Say this to the people of Israel: Yahweh, the God of your ancestors— the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob— has sent me to you. This is my eternal name, my name to remember for all generations.“ Now go and call together all the elders of Israel. Tell them,‘ Yahweh, the God of your ancestors— the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob— has appeared to me. He told me,“ I have been watching closely, and I see how the Egyptians are treating you.

For the law was given through Moses, but God’s unfailing love and faithfulness came through Jesus Christ.

He will cover you with his feathers. He will shelter you with his wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection.

Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning.

God’s law was given so that all people could see how sinful they were. But as people sinned more and more, God’s wonderful grace became more abundant.So just as sin ruled over all people and brought them to death, now God’s wonderful grace rules instead, giving us right standing with God and resulting in eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

In that wonderful day you will sing:“ Thank the Lord! Praise his name! Tell the nations what he has done. Let them know how mighty he is!

But you may not look directly at my face, for no one may see me and live.”The Lord continued,“ Look, stand near me on this rock.As my glorious presence passes by, I will hide you in the crevice of the rock and cover you with my hand until I have passed by.Then I will remove my hand and let you see me from behind. But my face will not be seen.”

“ Go out and stand before me on the mountain,” the Lord told him. And as Elijah stood there, the Lord passed by, and a mighty windstorm hit the mountain. It was such a terrible blast that the rocks were torn loose, but the Lord was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake.

He made heaven and earth, the sea, and everything in them. He keeps every promise forever.

How great is the goodness you have stored up for those who fear you. You lavish it on those who come to you for protection, blessing them before the watching world.

They are forever true, to be obeyed faithfully and with integrity.
