有我與你同在，必定沒有人會攻擊和傷害你，因為在這城裡有許多屬我的人。”

“耶和華你的神領你進入你要去得為業的地，從你面前趕走許多民族，就是赫人、革迦撒人、亞摩利人、迦南人、比利洗人、希未人、耶布斯人，共七個比你又大又強的民族。

他們出發了，神使周圍的城市都非常懼怕，他們就不追趕雅各的兒子。

雅比斯呼求以色列的神說：“深願你大大地賜福給我，擴張我的境界，你的能力常與我同在，保護我免遭災禍，不受痛苦。”神就應允了他所求的。

如果耶和華你的神照著他向你列祖起過的誓，擴張你的境界，把他應許賜給你列祖的全地，都賜給了你，

猶大地周圍的列國都懼怕耶和華，不敢和約沙法交戰。

“你們不可讓這些事的任何一件玷污自己，因為我將要從你們面前趕出去的各族，就是被這些事玷污了自己。

你不是在他四周圍上籬笆保護他嗎？他的家和他所有的一切，以及他手所作的，你都賜福，他的家產也在地上增添。

我今天吩咐你的，你務要遵守。看哪，我要把亞摩利人、迦南人、赫人、比利洗人、希未人、耶布斯人，從你面前趕逐出去。
