And the LORD said unto Moses, I have seen this people, and, behold, it[ is] a stiffnecked people:Now therefore let me alone, that my wrath may wax hot against them, and that I may consume them: and I will make of thee a great nation.

And I am come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land unto a good land and a large, unto a land flowing with milk and honey; unto the place of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites.

Understand therefore, that the LORD thy God giveth thee not this good land to possess it for thy righteousness; for thou[ art] a stiffnecked people.Remember,[ and] forget not, how thou provokedst the LORD thy God to wrath in the wilderness: from the day that thou didst depart out of the land of Egypt, until ye came unto this place, ye have been rebellious against the LORD.Also in Horeb ye provoked the LORD to wrath, so that the LORD was angry with you to have destroyed you.When I was gone up into the mount to receive the tables of stone,[ even] the tables of the covenant which the LORD made with you, then I abode in the mount forty days and forty nights, I neither did eat bread nor drink water:And the LORD delivered unto me two tables of stone written with the finger of God; and on them[ was written] according to all the words, which the LORD spake with you in the mount out of the midst of the fire in the day of the assembly.And it came to pass at the end of forty days and forty nights,[ that] the LORD gave me the two tables of stone,[ even] the tables of the covenant.And the LORD said unto me, Arise, get thee down quickly from hence; for thy people which thou hast brought forth out of Egypt have corrupted[ themselves]; they are quickly turned aside out of the way which I commanded them; they have made them a molten image.Furthermore the LORD spake unto me, saying, I have seen this people, and, behold, it[ is] a stiffnecked people:

And he said unto him, If thy presence go not[ with me], carry us not up hence.For wherein shall it be known here that I and thy people have found grace in thy sight?[ is it] not in that thou goest with us? so shall we be separated, I and thy people, from all the people that[ are] upon the face of the earth.And the LORD said unto Moses, I will do this thing also that thou hast spoken: for thou hast found grace in my sight, and I know thee by name.

Hear ye, and testify in the house of Jacob, saith the Lord GOD, the God of hosts,That in the day that I shall visit the transgressions of Israel upon him I will also visit the altars of Bethel: and the horns of the altar shall be cut off, and fall to the ground.

That I may perform the oath which I have sworn unto your fathers, to give them a land flowing with milk and honey, as[ it is] this day. Then answered I, and said, So be it, O LORD.

Get you up from among this congregation, that I may consume them as in a moment. And they fell upon their faces.

Separate yourselves from among this congregation, that I may consume them in a moment.

When I shall say to the righteous,[ that] he shall surely live; if he trust to his own righteousness, and commit iniquity, all his righteousnesses shall not be remembered; but for his iniquity that he hath committed, he shall die for it.Again, when I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; if he turn from his sin, and do that which is lawful and right;[ If] the wicked restore the pledge, give again that he had robbed, walk in the statutes of life, without committing iniquity; he shall surely live, he shall not die.None of his sins that he hath committed shall be mentioned unto him: he hath done that which is lawful and right; he shall surely live.

For the children of Israel walked forty years in the wilderness, till all the people[ that were] men of war, which came out of Egypt, were consumed, because they obeyed not the voice of the LORD: unto whom the LORD sware that he would not shew them the land, which the LORD sware unto their fathers that he would give us, a land that floweth with milk and honey.

Ye stiffnecked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, ye do always resist the Holy Ghost: as your fathers[ did], so[ do] ye.

If the LORD delight in us, then he will bring us into this land, and give it us; a land which floweth with milk and honey.

And they told him, and said, We came unto the land whither thou sentest us, and surely it floweth with milk and honey; and this[ is] the fruit of it.

And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do unto them; and he did[ it] not.

[ Is it] a small thing that thou hast brought us up out of a land that floweth with milk and honey, to kill us in the wilderness, except thou make thyself altogether a prince over us?

And the LORD repented of the evil which he thought to do unto his people.

I will smite them with the pestilence, and disinherit them, and will make of thee a greater nation and mightier than they.

Beware of him, and obey his voice, provoke him not; for he will not pardon your transgressions: for my name[ is] in him.

And Jonah began to enter into the city a day’s journey, and he cried, and said, Yet forty days, and Nineveh shall be overthrown.

And it shall be when the LORD shall bring thee into the land of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, which he sware unto thy fathers to give thee, a land flowing with milk and honey, that thou shalt keep this service in this month.

When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked[ man] shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.Yet if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.

I said, I would scatter them into corners, I would make the remembrance of them to cease from among men:Were it not that I feared the wrath of the enemy, lest their adversaries should behave themselves strangely,[ and] lest they should say, Our hand[ is] high, and the LORD hath not done all this.

Wherefore the LORD God of Israel saith, I said indeed[ that] thy house, and the house of thy father, should walk before me for ever: but now the LORD saith, Be it far from me; for them that honour me I will honour, and they that despise me shall be lightly esteemed.

But I have said unto you, Ye shall inherit their land, and I will give it unto you to possess it, a land that floweth with milk and honey: I[ am] the LORD your God, which have separated you from[ other] people.

And he said, If now I have found grace in thy sight, O Lord, let my Lord, I pray thee, go among us; for it[ is] a stiffnecked people; and pardon our iniquity and our sin, and take us for thine inheritance.

[ At what] instant I shall speak concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom, to pluck up, and to pull down, and to destroy[ it];If that nation, against whom I have pronounced, turn from their evil, I will repent of the evil that I thought to do unto them.And[ at what] instant I shall speak concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom, to build and to plant[ it];If it do evil in my sight, that it obey not my voice, then I will repent of the good, wherewith I said I would benefit them.

And might not be as their fathers, a stubborn and rebellious generation; a generation[ that] set not their heart aright, and whose spirit was not stedfast with God.
