( Now this man Judas acquired a field with the reward of his unjust deed, and falling headfirst he burst open in the middle and all his intestines gushed out.

He accepted the gold from them, fashioned it with an engraving tool, and made a molten calf. Then they said,“ These are your gods, O Israel, who brought you up out of Egypt.”

You have killed him with the sword of the Ammonites.So now the sword will never depart from your house. For you have despised me by taking the wife of Uriah the Hittite as your own!’

At that time they made an idol in the form of a calf, brought a sacrifice to the idol, and began rejoicing in the works of their hands.
