So Moses went back to the Lord and said,“ Oh, what a great sin these people have committed! They have made themselves gods of gold.

於是摩西回到永恆主那裏說：『唉，這人民真地犯了大罪，為自己造了金神像。

乃返耶和華所、曰、噫、斯民干重罪、以金造神像、

摩西復覲耶和華、曰斯民以金鑄上帝、陷罪綦重、

摩西復覲主曰、斯民獲大罪、為己鑄金神、

So Moses went back to the Lord. He said,“ These people have committed a terrible sin. They have made a god out of gold for themselves.

So Moses returned to the Lord and said,“ Alas, this people has sinned a great sin. They have made for themselves gods of gold.

So Moses returned to the Lord and said,“ Oh, what a terrible sin these people have committed. They have made gods of gold for themselves.

So Moses returned to the LORD and said,“ Oh, these people have committed a grave sin; they have made a god of gold for themselves.

Then Moses returned to the Lord and said,“ Oh, this people has committed a great sin, and they have made a god of gold for themselves!

Then Moses returned to the Lord and said,“ Oh, these people have committed a great sin, and have made for themselves a god of gold!

And Moses returned unto Jehovah, and said, Oh, this people have sinned a great sin, and have made them gods of gold.

So Moses returned to the Lord and said,“ Oh, these people have committed a grave sin; they have made a god of gold for themselves.

And Moses returned unto the LORD, and said, Oh, this people have sinned a great sin, and have made them gods of gold.

So Moses returned to the LORD and said,“ Alas, this people has committed a very serious sin, and they have made for themselves gods of gold.

Moses returned to Yahweh, and said,“ Oh, this people have sinned a great sin, and have made themselves gods of gold.

Do not make any gods to be alongside me; do not make for yourselves gods of silver or gods of gold.

The next day Moses said to the people,“ You have committed a great sin. But now I will go up to the Lord; perhaps I can make atonement for your sin.”

Then once again I fell prostrate before the Lord for forty days and forty nights; I ate no bread and drank no water, because of all the sin you had committed, doing what was evil in the Lord’s sight and so arousing his anger.I feared the anger and wrath of the Lord, for he was angry enough with you to destroy you. But again the Lord listened to me.

“ You shall not make for yourself an image in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below.

and prayed:“ I am too ashamed and disgraced, my God, to lift up my face to you, because our sins are higher than our heads and our guilt has reached to the heavens.From the days of our ancestors until now, our guilt has been great. Because of our sins, we and our kings and our priests have been subjected to the sword and captivity, to pillage and humiliation at the hand of foreign kings, as it is today.

We and our kings, our princes and our ancestors are covered with shame, Lord, because we have sinned against you.

Lord, the God of Israel, you are righteous! We are left this day as a remnant. Here we are before you in our guilt, though because of it not one of us can stand in your presence.”

Moses was there with the Lord forty days and forty nights without eating bread or drinking water. And he wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant— the Ten Commandments.

we have sinned and done wrong. We have been wicked and have rebelled; we have turned away from your commands and laws.

All Israel has transgressed your law and turned away, refusing to obey you.“ Therefore the curses and sworn judgments written in the Law of Moses, the servant of God, have been poured out on us, because we have sinned against you.

In all that has happened to us, you have remained righteous; you have acted faithfully, while we acted wickedly.
