你且由着我，我要灭绝他们，将他们的名从天下涂抹，使你的后裔比他们成为更大更强的国。’

我要用瘟疫击杀他们，使他们不得承受那地，叫你的后裔成为大国，比他们强胜。”

“你们离开这会众，我好在转眼之间把他们灭绝。”他们二人就俯伏于地。摩西对亚伦说：“拿你的香炉，把坛上的火盛在其中，又加上香，快快带到会众那里，为他们赎罪；因为有忿怒从耶和华那里出来，瘟疫已经发作了。”亚伦照着摩西所说的拿来，跑到会中，不料，瘟疫在百姓中已经发作了。他就加上香，为百姓赎罪。他站在活人死人中间，瘟疫就止住了。

我因耶和华向你们大发烈怒，要灭绝你们，就甚害怕；但那次耶和华又应允了我。

并要发烈怒，用刀杀你们，使你们的妻子为寡妇，儿女为孤儿。

所以你们要彼此认罪，互相代求，使你们可以得医治。义人祈祷所发的力量是大有功效的。

摩西便恳求耶和华他的神说：“耶和华啊，你为什么向你的百姓发烈怒呢？这百姓是你用大力和大能的手从埃及地领出来的。

求你照你的大慈爱赦免这百姓的罪孽，好像你从埃及到如今常赦免他们一样。”耶和华说：“我照着你的话赦免了他们。

那人说：“天黎明了，容我去吧！”雅各说：“你不给我祝福，我就不容你去。”那人说：“你名叫什么？”他说：“我名叫雅各。”那人说：“你的名不要再叫雅各，要叫以色列；因为你与神与人较力，都得了胜。”

耶和华又对我说：“不要为这百姓祈祷求好处。

亚伯拉罕说：“求主不要动怒，我再说这一次，假若在那里见有十个呢？”他说：“为这十个的缘故，我也不毁灭那城。”耶和华与亚伯拉罕说完了话就走了；亚伯拉罕也回到自己的地方去了。

摩西挨近营前就看见牛犊，又看见人跳舞，便发烈怒，把两块版扔在山下摔碎了，

摩西、亚伦就俯伏在地，说：“神，万人之灵的神啊，一人犯罪，你就要向全会众发怒吗？”

耶和华对我说：“虽有摩西和撒母耳站在我面前代求，我的心也不顾惜这百姓。你将他们从我眼前赶出，叫他们去吧！
