When the people saw that Moses delayed coming down from the mountain, the people gathered themselves together to Aaron, and said to him,“ Come, make us gods, which shall go before us; for as for this Moses, the man who brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we don’t know what has become of him.”

百姓见摩西迟延不下山，就大家聚集到亚伦那里，对他说：“起来！为我们做神像，可以在我们前面引路；因为领我们出埃及地的那个摩西，我们不知道他遭了什么事。”

人民见摩西迟迟不下山，就聚集到亚伦那里去，对他说：“起来，为我们做神像可以走在我们前头领路，因为那摩西，就是把我们从埃及地领出来的那个人，我们不知道他遭遇了什么事。”

人民見摩西拖延着下山，就聚集去見亞倫，對他說：『起來，給我們造神像可以在我們前面引路的，因為那摩西、那領我們從埃及地上來的那個人、我們不知道他怎麼樣了。』

民見摩西遲迴於山不下、則集於亞倫前曰、爾其為我造神像、以為我之先導、蓋率我出埃及之摩西、不知其何所遇矣、

民見摩西遲回於山不下、則集亞倫前、曰摩西率我出埃及、今彼不知所往、爾盍鑄上帝像、為我先導。

民見摩西遲延不下山、遂紛集於亞倫前、曰、起、為我儕造神、可為我前導、蓋導我儕出伊及之摩西、不知其何遇、

When the people saw that Moses was so long in coming down from the mountain, they gathered around Aaron and said,“ Come, make us gods who will go before us. As for this fellow Moses who brought us up out of Egypt, we don’t know what has happened to him.”

The people saw that Moses took a long time to come down from the mountain. So they gathered around Aaron. They said to him,“ Come. Make us a god that will lead us. This fellow Moses brought us up out of Egypt. But we don’t know what has happened to him.”

When the people saw that Moses delayed to come down from the mountain, the people gathered themselves together to Aaron and said to him,“ Up, make us gods who shall go before us. As for this Moses, the man who brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we do not know what has become of him.”

When the people saw how long it was taking Moses to come back down the mountain, they gathered around Aaron.“ Come on,” they said,“ make us some gods who can lead us. We don’t know what happened to this fellow Moses, who brought us here from the land of Egypt.”

When the people saw that Moses delayed in coming down from the mountain, they gathered around Aaron and said to him,“ Come, make gods for us who will go before us because this Moses, the man who brought us up from the land of Egypt— we don’t know what has happened to him!”

Now when the people saw that Moses delayed to come down from the mountain, the people assembled around Aaron and said to him,“ Come, make us a god who will go before us; for this Moses, the man who brought us up from the land of Egypt— we do not know what happened to him.”

Now when the people saw that Moses delayed coming down from the mountain, the people gathered together to Aaron, and said to him,“ Come, make us gods that shall go before us; for as for this Moses, the man who brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we do not know what has become of him.”

And when the people saw that Moses delayed to come down out of the mount, the people gathered themselves together unto Aaron, and said unto him, Up, make us gods, which shall go before us; for[ as for] this Moses, the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become of him.

When the people saw that Moses delayed in coming down from the mountain, they gathered around Aaron and said to him,“ Get up, make us gods that will go before us. As for this fellow Moses, the man who brought us up from the land of Egypt, we do not know what has become of him!”

and saying,“ Where is the promise of his coming? For, from the day that the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.”

When I had gone up onto the mountain to receive the stone tablets, even the tablets of the covenant which Yahweh made with you, then I stayed on the mountain forty days and forty nights. I neither ate bread nor drank water.

But if that evil servant should say in his heart,‘ My lord is delaying his coming,’

saying to Aaron,‘ Make us gods that will go before us, for as for this Moses, who led us out of the land of Egypt, we don’t know what has become of him.’

Moses entered into the middle of the cloud, and went up on the mountain; and Moses was on the mountain forty days and forty nights.

He said,“ My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”Moses said to him,“ If your presence doesn’t go with me, don’t carry us up from here.

For I brought you up out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed you out of the house of bondage. I sent before you Moses, Aaron, and Miriam.

It came to pass at the end of forty days and forty nights that Yahweh gave me the two stone tablets, even the tablets of the covenant.Yahweh said to me,“ Arise, get down quickly from here; for your people whom you have brought out of Egypt have corrupted themselves. They have quickly turned away from the way which I commanded them. They have made a molten image for themselves!”

Yahweh spoke to Moses,“ Go, get down; for your people, who you brought up out of the land of Egypt, have corrupted themselves!

Yahweh went before them by day in a pillar of cloud, to lead them on their way, and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light, that they might go by day and by night:

They said to Moses,“ Because there were no graves in Egypt, have you taken us away to die in the wilderness? Why have you treated us this way, to bring us out of Egypt?

By a prophet Yahweh brought Israel up out of Egypt, and by a prophet he was preserved.

Moses begged Yahweh his God, and said,“ Yahweh, why does your wrath burn hot against your people, that you have brought out of the land of Egypt with great power and with a mighty hand?

When they had gone out of the city, and were not yet far off, Joseph said to his steward,“ Up, follow after the men. When you overtake them, ask them,‘ Why have you rewarded evil for good?

Be very careful, for you saw no kind of form on the day that Yahweh spoke to you in Horeb out of the middle of the fire,lest you corrupt yourselves, and make yourself a carved image in the form of any figure, the likeness of male or female,the likeness of any animal that is on the earth, the likeness of any winged bird that flies in the sky,the likeness of anything that creeps on the ground, the likeness of any fish that is in the water under the earth;

Go to a land flowing with milk and honey; but I will not go up among you, for you are a stiff- necked people, lest I consume you on the way.”

Get up! Sanctify the people, and say,‘ Sanctify yourselves for tomorrow, for Yahweh, the God of Israel, says,“ There is a devoted thing among you, Israel. You cannot stand before your enemies until you take away the devoted thing from among you.”

Lot went out, and spoke to his sons- in- law, who were pledged to marry his daughters, and said,“ Get up! Get out of this place, for Yahweh will destroy the city!” But he seemed to his sons- in- law to be joking.

But he refused, and said to his master’s wife,“ Behold, my master doesn’t know what is with me in the house, and he has put all that he has into my hand.

Joseph said to them,“ What deed is this that you have done? Don’t you know that such a man as I can indeed do divination?”

and the children of Israel said to them,“ We wish that we had died by Yahweh’s hand in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the meat pots, when we ate our fill of bread, for you have brought us out into this wilderness to kill this whole assembly with hunger.”

Being then the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Divine Nature is like gold, or silver, or stone, engraved by art and design of man.

“ You shall have no other gods before me.“ You shall not make for yourselves an idol, nor any image of anything that is in the heavens above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:you shall not bow yourself down to them, nor serve them, for I, Yahweh your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, on the third and on the fourth generation of those who hate me,

But know this, that if the master of the house had known in what watch of the night the thief was coming, he would have watched, and would not have allowed his house to be broken into.

Abimelech said,“ I don’t know who has done this thing. You didn’t tell me, and I didn’t hear of it until today.”

You see and hear that not at Ephesus alone, but almost throughout all Asia, this Paul has persuaded and turned away many people, saying that they are no gods that are made with hands.
