When the people saw that Moses was so long in coming down from the mountain, they gathered around Aaron and said,“ Come, make us gods who will go before us. As for this fellow Moses who brought us up out of Egypt, we don’t know what has happened to him.”

百姓见摩西迟延不下山，就大家聚集到亚伦那里，对他说：“起来！为我们做神像，可以在我们前面引路；因为领我们出埃及地的那个摩西，我们不知道他遭了什么事。”

百姓见摩西迟迟不下山，就聚集到亚伦那里，对他说：“起来！为我们造神明，在我们前面引路，因为领我们出埃及地的那个摩西，我们不知道他遭遇了什么事。”

百姓见摩西迟迟没有下山，就聚集到亚伦那里，对他说：“领我们离开埃及的那个摩西不知怎样了，你给我们造神像来带领我们吧。”

人民见摩西迟迟不下山，就聚集到亚伦那里去，对他说：“起来，为我们做神像可以走在我们前头领路，因为那摩西，就是把我们从埃及地领出来的那个人，我们不知道他遭遇了什么事。”

人民見摩西拖延着下山，就聚集去見亞倫，對他說：『起來，給我們造神像可以在我們前面引路的，因為那摩西、那領我們從埃及地上來的那個人、我們不知道他怎麼樣了。』

民見摩西遲迴於山不下、則集於亞倫前曰、爾其為我造神像、以為我之先導、蓋率我出埃及之摩西、不知其何所遇矣、

民見摩西遲回於山不下、則集亞倫前、曰摩西率我出埃及、今彼不知所往、爾盍鑄上帝像、為我先導。

民見摩西遲延不下山、遂紛集於亞倫前、曰、起、為我儕造神、可為我前導、蓋導我儕出伊及之摩西、不知其何遇、

The people saw that Moses took a long time to come down from the mountain. So they gathered around Aaron. They said to him,“ Come. Make us a god that will lead us. This fellow Moses brought us up out of Egypt. But we don’t know what has happened to him.”

When the people saw that Moses delayed to come down from the mountain, the people gathered themselves together to Aaron and said to him,“ Up, make us gods who shall go before us. As for this Moses, the man who brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we do not know what has become of him.”

When the people saw how long it was taking Moses to come back down the mountain, they gathered around Aaron.“ Come on,” they said,“ make us some gods who can lead us. We don’t know what happened to this fellow Moses, who brought us here from the land of Egypt.”

When the people saw that Moses delayed in coming down from the mountain, they gathered around Aaron and said to him,“ Come, make gods for us who will go before us because this Moses, the man who brought us up from the land of Egypt— we don’t know what has happened to him!”

Now when the people saw that Moses delayed to come down from the mountain, the people assembled around Aaron and said to him,“ Come, make us a god who will go before us; for this Moses, the man who brought us up from the land of Egypt— we do not know what happened to him.”

Now when the people saw that Moses delayed coming down from the mountain, the people gathered together to Aaron, and said to him,“ Come, make us gods that shall go before us; for as for this Moses, the man who brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we do not know what has become of him.”

And when the people saw that Moses delayed to come down from the mount, the people gathered themselves together unto Aaron, and said unto him, Up, make us gods, which shall go before us; for as for this Moses, the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we know not what is become of him.

When the people saw that Moses delayed in coming down from the mountain, they gathered around Aaron and said to him,“ Get up, make us gods that will go before us. As for this fellow Moses, the man who brought us up from the land of Egypt, we do not know what has become of him!”

When the people saw that Moses delayed coming down from the mountain, the people gathered themselves together to Aaron, and said to him,“ Come, make us gods, which shall go before us; for as for this Moses, the man who brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we don’t know what has become of him.”

They will say,“ Where is this‘ coming’ he promised? Ever since our ancestors died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation.”

When I went up on the mountain to receive the tablets of stone, the tablets of the covenant that the Lord had made with you, I stayed on the mountain forty days and forty nights; I ate no bread and drank no water.

But suppose that servant is wicked and says to himself,‘ My master is staying away a long time,’

They told Aaron,‘ Make us gods who will go before us. As for this fellow Moses who led us out of Egypt— we don’t know what has happened to him!’

Then Moses entered the cloud as he went on up the mountain. And he stayed on the mountain forty days and forty nights.

The Lord replied,“ My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”Then Moses said to him,“ If your Presence does not go with us, do not send us up from here.

I brought you up out of Egypt and redeemed you from the land of slavery. I sent Moses to lead you, also Aaron and Miriam.

At the end of the forty days and forty nights, the Lord gave me the two stone tablets, the tablets of the covenant.Then the Lord told me,“ Go down from here at once, because your people whom you brought out of Egypt have become corrupt. They have turned away quickly from what I commanded them and have made an idol for themselves.”

Then the Lord said to Moses,“ Go down, because your people, whom you brought up out of Egypt, have become corrupt.

By day the Lord went ahead of them in a pillar of cloud to guide them on their way and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so that they could travel by day or night.

They said to Moses,“ Was it because there were no graves in Egypt that you brought us to the desert to die? What have you done to us by bringing us out of Egypt?

The Lord used a prophet to bring Israel up from Egypt, by a prophet he cared for him.

But Moses sought the favor of the Lord his God.“ Lord,” he said,“ why should your anger burn against your people, whom you brought out of Egypt with great power and a mighty hand?

They had not gone far from the city when Joseph said to his steward,“ Go after those men at once, and when you catch up with them, say to them,‘ Why have you repaid good with evil?

You saw no form of any kind the day the Lord spoke to you at Horeb out of the fire. Therefore watch yourselves very carefully,so that you do not become corrupt and make for yourselves an idol, an image of any shape, whether formed like a man or a woman,or like any animal on earth or any bird that flies in the air,or like any creature that moves along the ground or any fish in the waters below.

Go up to the land flowing with milk and honey. But I will not go with you, because you are a stiff-necked people and I might destroy you on the way.”

“ Go, consecrate the people. Tell them,‘ Consecrate yourselves in preparation for tomorrow; for this is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: There are devoted things among you, Israel. You cannot stand against your enemies until you remove them.

So Lot went out and spoke to his sons-in-law, who were pledged to marry his daughters. He said,“ Hurry and get out of this place, because the Lord is about to destroy the city!” But his sons-in-law thought he was joking.

But he refused.“ With me in charge,” he told her,“ my master does not concern himself with anything in the house; everything he owns he has entrusted to my care.

Joseph said to them,“ What is this you have done? Don’t you know that a man like me can find things out by divination?”

The Israelites said to them,“ If only we had died by the Lord’s hand in Egypt! There we sat around pots of meat and ate all the food we wanted, but you have brought us out into this desert to starve this entire assembly to death.”

“ Therefore since we are God’s offspring, we should not think that the divine being is like gold or silver or stone— an image made by human design and skill.

“ You shall have no other gods before me.“ You shall not make for yourself an image in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below.You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me,

But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what time of night the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into.

But Abimelek said,“ I don’t know who has done this. You did not tell me, and I heard about it only today.”

And you see and hear how this fellow Paul has convinced and led astray large numbers of people here in Ephesus and in practically the whole province of Asia. He says that gods made by human hands are no gods at all.
