When the people saw that Moses delayed to come down from the mountain, the people gathered themselves together to Aaron and said to him,“ Up, make us gods who shall go before us. As for this Moses, the man who brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we do not know what has become of him.”

百姓见摩西迟延不下山，就大家聚集到亚伦那里，对他说：“起来！为我们做神像，可以在我们前面引路；因为领我们出埃及地的那个摩西，我们不知道他遭了什么事。”

百姓见摩西迟迟没有下山，就聚集到亚伦那里，对他说：“领我们离开埃及的那个摩西不知怎样了，你给我们造神像来带领我们吧。”

人民见摩西迟迟不下山，就聚集到亚伦那里去，对他说：“起来，为我们做神像可以走在我们前头领路，因为那摩西，就是把我们从埃及地领出来的那个人，我们不知道他遭遇了什么事。”

百姓見摩西遲延不下山，就大家聚集到亞倫那裏，對他說：「起來！為我們做神像，可以在我們前面引路；因為領我們出埃及地的那個摩西，我們不知道他遭了甚麼事。」

人民見摩西拖延着下山，就聚集去見亞倫，對他說：『起來，給我們造神像可以在我們前面引路的，因為那摩西、那領我們從埃及地上來的那個人、我們不知道他怎麼樣了。』

民見摩西遲迴於山不下、則集於亞倫前曰、爾其為我造神像、以為我之先導、蓋率我出埃及之摩西、不知其何所遇矣、

民見摩西遲回於山不下、則集亞倫前、曰摩西率我出埃及、今彼不知所往、爾盍鑄上帝像、為我先導。

民見摩西遲延不下山、遂紛集於亞倫前、曰、起、為我儕造神、可為我前導、蓋導我儕出伊及之摩西、不知其何遇、

When the people saw that Moses was so long in coming down from the mountain, they gathered around Aaron and said,“ Come, make us gods who will go before us. As for this fellow Moses who brought us up out of Egypt, we don’t know what has happened to him.”

The people saw that Moses took a long time to come down from the mountain. So they gathered around Aaron. They said to him,“ Come. Make us a god that will lead us. This fellow Moses brought us up out of Egypt. But we don’t know what has happened to him.”

When the people saw how long it was taking Moses to come back down the mountain, they gathered around Aaron.“ Come on,” they said,“ make us some gods who can lead us. We don’t know what happened to this fellow Moses, who brought us here from the land of Egypt.”

When the people saw that Moses delayed in coming down from the mountain, they gathered around Aaron and said to him,“ Come, make gods for us who will go before us because this Moses, the man who brought us up from the land of Egypt— we don’t know what has happened to him!”

Now when the people saw that Moses delayed to come down from the mountain, the people assembled around Aaron and said to him,“ Come, make us a god who will go before us; for this Moses, the man who brought us up from the land of Egypt— we do not know what happened to him.”

Now when the people saw that Moses delayed coming down from the mountain, the people gathered together to Aaron, and said to him,“ Come, make us gods that shall go before us; for as for this Moses, the man who brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we do not know what has become of him.”

And when the people saw that Moses delayed to come down from the mount, the people gathered themselves together unto Aaron, and said unto him, Up, make us gods, which shall go before us; for as for this Moses, the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we know not what is become of him.

When the people saw that Moses delayed in coming down from the mountain, they gathered around Aaron and said to him,“ Get up, make us gods that will go before us. As for this fellow Moses, the man who brought us up from the land of Egypt, we do not know what has become of him!”

When the people saw that Moses delayed coming down from the mountain, the people gathered themselves together to Aaron, and said to him,“ Come, make us gods, which shall go before us; for as for this Moses, the man who brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we don’t know what has become of him.”

They will say,“ Where is the promise of his coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all things are continuing as they were from the beginning of creation.”

When I went up the mountain to receive the tablets of stone, the tablets of the covenant that the Lord made with you, I remained on the mountain forty days and forty nights. I neither ate bread nor drank water.

But if that wicked servant says to himself,‘ My master is delayed,’

saying to Aaron,‘ Make for us gods who will go before us. As for this Moses who led us out from the land of Egypt, we do not know what has become of him.’

Moses entered the cloud and went up on the mountain. And Moses was on the mountain forty days and forty nights.

And he said,“ My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”And he said to him,“ If your presence will not go with me, do not bring us up from here.

For I brought you up from the land of Egypt and redeemed you from the house of slavery, and I sent before you Moses, Aaron, and Miriam.

And at the end of forty days and forty nights the Lord gave me the two tablets of stone, the tablets of the covenant.Then the Lord said to me,‘ Arise, go down quickly from here, for your people whom you have brought from Egypt have acted corruptly. They have turned aside quickly out of the way that I commanded them; they have made themselves a metal image.’

And the Lord said to Moses,“ Go down, for your people, whom you brought up out of the land of Egypt, have corrupted themselves.

And the Lord went before them by day in a pillar of cloud to lead them along the way, and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, that they might travel by day and by night.

They said to Moses,“ Is it because there are no graves in Egypt that you have taken us away to die in the wilderness? What have you done to us in bringing us out of Egypt?

By a prophet the Lord brought Israel up from Egypt, and by a prophet he was guarded.

But Moses implored the Lord his God and said,“ O Lord, why does your wrath burn hot against your people, whom you have brought out of the land of Egypt with great power and with a mighty hand?

They had gone only a short distance from the city. Now Joseph said to his steward,“ Up, follow after the men, and when you overtake them, say to them,‘ Why have you repaid evil for good?

“ Therefore watch yourselves very carefully. Since you saw no form on the day that the Lord spoke to you at Horeb out of the midst of the fire,beware lest you act corruptly by making a carved image for yourselves, in the form of any figure, the likeness of male or female,the likeness of any animal that is on the earth, the likeness of any winged bird that flies in the air,the likeness of anything that creeps on the ground, the likeness of any fish that is in the water under the earth.

Go up to a land flowing with milk and honey; but I will not go up among you, lest I consume you on the way, for you are a stiff-necked people.”

Get up! Consecrate the people and say,‘ Consecrate yourselves for tomorrow; for thus says the Lord, God of Israel,“ There are devoted things in your midst, O Israel. You cannot stand before your enemies until you take away the devoted things from among you.”

So Lot went out and said to his sons-in-law, who were to marry his daughters,“ Up! Get out of this place, for the Lord is about to destroy the city.” But he seemed to his sons-in-law to be jesting.

But he refused and said to his master’s wife,“ Behold, because of me my master has no concern about anything in the house, and he has put everything that he has in my charge.

Joseph said to them,“ What deed is this that you have done? Do you not know that a man like me can indeed practice divination?”

and the people of Israel said to them,“ Would that we had died by the hand of the Lord in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the meat pots and ate bread to the full, for you have brought us out into this wilderness to kill this whole assembly with hunger.”

Being then God’s offspring, we ought not to think that the divine being is like gold or silver or stone, an image formed by the art and imagination of man.

“ You shall have no other gods before me.“ You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.You shall not bow down to them or serve them, for I the Lord your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and the fourth generation of those who hate me,

But know this, that if the master of the house had known in what part of the night the thief was coming, he would have stayed awake and would not have let his house be broken into.

Abimelech said,“ I do not know who has done this thing; you did not tell me, and I have not heard of it until today.”

And you see and hear that not only in Ephesus but in almost all of Asia this Paul has persuaded and turned away a great many people, saying that gods made with hands are not gods.
