Place the incense altar just outside the inner curtain that shields the Ark of the Covenant, in front of the Ark’s cover— the place of atonement— that covers the tablets inscribed with the terms of the covenant. I will meet with you there.

你要把壇放在法櫃前面的幔幕前，面對著法櫃上的施恩座，就是我與你相會的地方。

要把壇放在帷帳前面、對着裏面的法櫃、在法櫃上的除罪蓋前面；那蓋就是我要和你相會的地方。

置壇於法匱旁之㡘外、法版之上、施恩座前、我將臨汝之處、

於法匱簾外、施恩所前、我涖臨之處、必置其壇。

當以臺置於掩法匱之幔前、與法匱上之贖罪蓋、即我降臨諭爾之所相對、

Put the altar in front of the curtain that shields the ark of the covenant law— before the atonement cover that is over the tablets of the covenant law— where I will meet with you.

Put the altar in front of the curtain that hangs in front of the ark. The ark is where the tablets of the covenant law are kept. The ark will have a cover. It will be the place where sin is paid for. There I will meet with you.

And you shall put it in front of the veil that is above the ark of the testimony, in front of the mercy seat that is above the testimony, where I will meet with you.

“ You are to place the altar in front of the curtain by the ark of the testimony— in front of the mercy seat that is over the testimony— where I will meet with you.

You shall put this altar in front of the veil that is near the ark of the testimony, in front of the atoning cover that is over the ark of the testimony, where I will meet with you.

And you shall put it before the veil that is before the ark of the Testimony, before the mercy seat that is over the Testimony, where I will meet with you.

And thou shalt put it before the veil that is by the ark of the testimony, before the mercy- seat that is over the testimony, where I will meet with thee.

“ You are to place the altar in front of the veil by the ark of the testimony— in front of the mercy seat that is over the testimony— where I will meet with you.

And thou shalt put it before the vail that[ is] by the ark of the testimony, before the mercy seat that[ is] over the testimony, where I will meet with thee.

“ You are to put it in front of the curtain that is before the ark of the testimony( before the atonement lid that is over the testimony), where I will meet you.

You shall put it before the veil that is by the ark of the covenant, before the mercy seat that is over the covenant, where I will meet with you.

Place inside the Ark the stone tablets inscribed with the terms of the covenant, which I will give to you. Then put the atonement cover on top of the Ark.I will meet with you there and talk to you from above the atonement cover between the gold cherubim that hover over the Ark of the Covenant. From there I will give you my commands for the people of Israel.

Grind some of the mixture into a very fine powder and put it in front of the Ark of the Covenant, where I will meet with you in the Tabernacle. You must treat this incense as most holy.

At that moment the curtain in the sanctuary of the Temple was torn in two, from top to bottom. The earth shook, rocks split apart,

Place these staffs in the Tabernacle in front of the Ark containing the tablets of the Covenant, where I meet with you.

So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.

Then David gave Solomon the plans for the Temple and its surroundings, including the entry room, the storerooms, the upstairs rooms, the inner rooms, and the inner sanctuary— which was the place of atonement.

Then there was a curtain, and behind the curtain was the second room called the Most Holy Place.In that room were a gold incense altar and a wooden chest called the Ark of the Covenant, which was covered with gold on all sides. Inside the Ark were a gold jar containing manna, Aaron’s staff that sprouted leaves, and the stone tablets of the covenant.Above the Ark were the cherubim of divine glory, whose wings stretched out over the Ark’s cover, the place of atonement. But we cannot explain these things in detail now.

Place the Ark of the Covenant inside, and install the inner curtain to enclose the Ark within the Most Holy Place.

“ Place the gold incense altar in front of the Ark of the Covenant. Then hang the curtain at the entrance of the Tabernacle.

“ For the inside of the Tabernacle, make a special curtain of finely woven linen. Decorate it with blue, purple, and scarlet thread and with skillfully embroidered cherubim.Hang this curtain on gold hooks attached to four posts of acacia wood. Overlay the posts with gold, and set them in four silver bases.Hang the inner curtain from clasps, and put the Ark of the Covenant in the room behind it. This curtain will separate the Holy Place from the Most Holy Place.“ Then put the Ark’s cover— the place of atonement— on top of the Ark of the Covenant inside the Most Holy Place.Place the table outside the inner curtain on the north side of the Tabernacle, and place the lampstand across the room on the south side.

He also placed the gold incense altar in the Tabernacle, in the Holy Place in front of the inner curtain.

“ These burnt offerings are to be made each day from generation to generation. Offer them in the Lord’s presence at the Tabernacle entrance; there I will meet with you and speak with you.I will meet the people of Israel there, in the place made holy by my glorious presence.

There in the Lord’s presence he will put the incense on the burning coals so that a cloud of incense will rise over the Ark’s cover— the place of atonement— that rests on the Ark of the Covenant. If he follows these instructions, he will not die.
