耶和華因伯‧示麥人擅觀他的約櫃，就擊殺了他們七十人；那時有五萬人在那裏。百姓因耶和華大大擊殺他們，就哀哭了。

亞拿尼亞聽見這話，就仆倒，斷了氣；聽見的人都甚懼怕。

耶和華向他發怒，因他伸手扶住約櫃擊殺他，他就死在神面前。

所以我們既得了不能震動的國，就當感恩，照神所喜悅的，用虔誠、敬畏的心事奉神。因為我們的神乃是烈火。

亞倫的兩個兒子近到耶和華面前死了。死了之後，耶和華曉諭摩西說：「要告訴你哥哥亞倫，不可隨時進聖所的幔子內、到櫃上的施恩座前，免得他死亡，因為我要從雲中顯現在施恩座上。

你們要吃無酵餅七日。頭一日要把酵從你們各家中除去；因為從頭一日起，到第七日為止，凡吃有酵之餅的，必從以色列中剪除。

婦人立刻仆倒在彼得腳前，斷了氣。那些少年人進來，見她已經死了，就擡出去，埋在她丈夫旁邊。
