I am the God of your father— the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.” When Moses heard this, he covered his face because he was afraid to look at God.

Then he said,“ I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob.” At this, Moses hid his face, because he was afraid to look at God.

He continued,“ I am the God of your father. I am the God of Abraham. I am the God of Isaac. And I am the God of Jacob.” When Moses heard that, he turned his face away. He was afraid to look at God.

And he said,“ I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.” And Moses hid his face, for he was afraid to look at God.

Then he continued,“ I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.” Moses hid his face because he was afraid to look at God.

And He said,“ I am the God of your father— the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.” Then Moses hid his face, for he was afraid to look at God.

Moreover He said,“ I am the God of your father— the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.” And Moses hid his face, for he was afraid to look upon God.

Moreover he said, I am the God of thy father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. And Moses hid his face; for he was afraid to look upon God.

Then He continued,“ I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.” Moses hid his face because he was afraid to look at God.

Moreover he said, I[ am] the God of thy father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. And Moses hid his face; for he was afraid to look upon God.

He added,“ I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.” Then Moses hid his face, because he was afraid to look at God.

Moreover he said,“ I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.” Moses hid his face because he was afraid to look at God.

“ But now, as to whether the dead will be raised— haven’t you ever read about this in the writings of Moses, in the story of the burning bush? Long after Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob had died, God said to Moses,‘ I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.’

“ But now, as to whether the dead will be raised— even Moses proved this when he wrote about the burning bush. Long after Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob had died, he referred to the Lord as‘ the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.’

‘ I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.’ So he is the God of the living, not the dead.”

“ Perform this sign,” the Lord told him.“ Then they will believe that the Lord, the God of their ancestors— the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob— really has appeared to you.”

At the top of the stairway stood the Lord, and he said,“ I am the Lord, the God of your grandfather Abraham, and the God of your father, Isaac. The ground you are lying on belongs to you. I am giving it to you and your descendants.

‘ I am the God of your ancestors— the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.’ Moses shook with terror and did not dare to look.

When I saw him, I fell at his feet as if I were dead. But he laid his right hand on me and said,“ Don’t be afraid! I am the First and the Last.

When Elijah heard it, he wrapped his face in his cloak and went out and stood at the entrance of the cave. And a voice said,“ What are you doing here, Elijah?”

At the usual time for offering the evening sacrifice, Elijah the prophet walked up to the altar and prayed,“ O Lord, God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, prove today that you are God in Israel and that I am your servant. Prove that I have done all this at your command.

and he said to his wife,“ We will certainly die, for we have seen God!”

The disciples were terrified and fell face down on the ground.

It was in the year King Uzziah died that I saw the Lord. He was sitting on a lofty throne, and the train of his robe filled the Temple.Attending him were mighty seraphim, each having six wings. With two wings they covered their faces, with two they covered their feet, and with two they flew.They were calling out to each other,“ Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of Heaven’s Armies! The whole earth is filled with his glory!”Their voices shook the Temple to its foundations, and the entire building was filled with smoke.Then I said,“ It’s all over! I am doomed, for I am a sinful man. I have filthy lips, and I live among a people with filthy lips. Yet I have seen the King, the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.”

I had only heard about you before, but now I have seen you with my own eyes.I take back everything I said, and I sit in dust and ashes to show my repentance.”

“ But this is the new covenant I will make with the people of Israel after those days,” says the Lord.“ I will put my instructions deep within them, and I will write them on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people.

I will give them hearts that recognize me as the Lord. They will be my people, and I will be their God, for they will return to me wholeheartedly.

“ I will confirm my covenant with you and your descendants after you, from generation to generation. This is the everlasting covenant: I will always be your God and the God of your descendants after you.And I will give the entire land of Canaan, where you now live as a foreigner, to you and your descendants. It will be their possession forever, and I will be their God.”

I will bring them home again to live safely in Jerusalem. They will be my people, and I will be faithful and just toward them as their God.

God replied to Moses,“ I Am Who I Am. Say this to the people of Israel: I Am has sent me to you.”God also said to Moses,“ Say this to the people of Israel: Yahweh, the God of your ancestors— the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob— has sent me to you. This is my eternal name, my name to remember for all generations.

At this, Abram fell face down on the ground. Then God said to him,

Then Jacob prayed,“ O God of my grandfather Abraham, and God of my father, Isaac— O Lord, you told me,‘ Return to your own land and to your relatives.’ And you promised me,‘ I will treat you kindly.’

so they will obey my decrees and regulations. Then they will truly be my people, and I will be their God.

When Simon Peter realized what had happened, he fell to his knees before Jesus and said,“ Oh, Lord, please leave me— I’m such a sinful man.”

In fact, if the God of my father had not been on my side— the God of Abraham and the fearsome God of Isaac— you would have sent me away empty handed. But God has seen your abuse and my hard work. That is why he appeared to you last night and rebuked you!”

Then the Lord appeared to Abram and said,“ I will give this land to your descendants.” And Abram built an altar there and dedicated it to the Lord, who had appeared to him.

“ You saw the misery of our ancestors in Egypt, and you heard their cries from beside the Red Sea.

They will be my people, and I will be their God.

Even so, he pitied them in their distress and listened to their cries.He remembered his covenant with them and relented because of his unfailing love.

Moses himself was so frightened at the sight that he said,“ I am terrified and trembling.”

He made a solemn promise to the Lord. He vowed to the Mighty One of Israel,

The Lord had said to Abram,“ Leave your native country, your relatives, and your father’s family, and go to the land that I will show you.

They spoke to him day after day, but still he refused to comply with the order. So they spoke to Haman about this to see if he would tolerate Mordecai’s conduct, since Mordecai had told them he was a Jew.

where the Lord appeared to him on the night of his arrival.“ I am the God of your father, Abraham,” he said.“ Do not be afraid, for I am with you and will bless you. I will multiply your descendants, and they will become a great nation. I will do this because of my promise to Abraham, my servant.”

Only I, Daniel, saw this vision. The men with me saw nothing, but they were suddenly terrified and ran away to hide.So I was left there all alone to see this amazing vision. My strength left me, my face grew deathly pale, and I felt very weak.

Then I will live among the people of Israel and be their God,

I have certainly seen the oppression of my people in Egypt. I have heard their groans and have come down to rescue them. Now go, for I am sending you back to Egypt.’
