“ The elders of Israel will listen to you. Then you and the elders are to go to the king of Egypt and say to him,‘ The Lord, the God of the Hebrews, has met with us. Let us take a three-day journey into the wilderness to offer sacrifices to the Lord our God.’

“ The elders of Israel will listen to you. Then you and the elders must go to the king of Egypt. You must say to him,‘ The Lord has met with us. He is the God of the Hebrews. Let us take a journey that lasts about three days. We want to go into the desert to offer sacrifices to the Lord our God.’

And they will listen to your voice, and you and the elders of Israel shall go to the king of Egypt and say to him,‘ The Lord, the God of the Hebrews, has met with us; and now, please let us go a three days’ journey into the wilderness, that we may sacrifice to the Lord our God.’

“ The elders of Israel will accept your message. Then you and the elders must go to the king of Egypt and tell him,‘ The Lord, the God of the Hebrews, has met with us. So please let us take a three day journey into the wilderness to offer sacrifices to the Lord, our God.’

They will listen to what you say. Then you, along with the elders of Israel, must go to the king of Egypt and say to him: The LORD, the God of the Hebrews, has met with us. Now please let us go on a three-day trip into the wilderness so that we may sacrifice to the LORD our God.

Then they will pay attention to what you say; and you with the elders of Israel will come to the king of Egypt, and you will say to him,‘ The Lord, the God of the Hebrews, has met with us. So now, please let us go a three days’ journey into the wilderness, so that we may sacrifice to the Lord our God.’

Then they will heed your voice; and you shall come, you and the elders of Israel, to the king of Egypt; and you shall say to him,‘ The Lord God of the Hebrews has met with us; and now, please, let us go three days’ journey into the wilderness, that we may sacrifice to the Lord our God.’

And they shall hearken to thy voice: and thou shalt come, thou and the elders of Israel, unto the king of Egypt, and ye shall say unto him, The LORD God of the Hebrews hath met with us: and now let us go, we beseech thee, three days’ journey into the wilderness, that we may sacrifice to the LORD our God.

They will listen to your voice. You shall come, you and the elders of Israel, to the king of Egypt, and you shall tell him,‘ Yahweh, the God of the Hebrews, has met with us. Now please let us go three days’ journey into the wilderness, that we may sacrifice to Yahweh, our God.’

Then the LORD said to Moses,“ Go to Pharaoh and tell him,‘ Thus says the LORD, the God of the Hebrews,“ Release my people that they may serve me!

Tell him,‘ The LORD, the God of the Hebrews, has sent me to you to say,“ Release my people, that they may serve me in the desert!” But until now you have not listened.

Just as we obeyed Moses, so we will obey you. But may the LORD your God be with you as he was with Moses!

Then Pharaoh summoned Moses and said,“ Go, serve the LORD– only your flocks and herds will be detained. Even your families may go with you.”But Moses said,“ Will you also provide us with sacrifices and burnt offerings that we may present them to the LORD our God?Our livestock must also go with us! Not a hoof is to be left behind! For we must take these animals to serve the LORD our God. Until we arrive there, we do not know what we must use to serve the LORD.”

In Judah God moved the people to unite and carry out the edict the king and the officers had issued at the LORD’s command.

“ Go and bring together the elders of Israel and tell them,‘ The LORD, the God of your fathers, appeared to me– the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob– saying,“ I have attended carefully to you and to what has been done to you in Egypt,

The LORD said to Moses,“ Get up early in the morning, stand before Pharaoh, and tell him,‘ Thus says the LORD, the God of the Hebrews:“ Release my people so that they may serve me!

“ This will be a regular burnt offering throughout your generations at the entrance of the tent of meeting before the LORD, where I will meet with you to speak to you there.There I will meet with the Israelites, and it will be set apart as holy by my glory.

“ You are to put it in front of the curtain that is before the ark of the testimony( before the atonement lid that is over the testimony), where I will meet you.

I will meet with you there, and from above the atonement lid, from between the two cherubim that are over the ark of the testimony, I will speak with you about all that I will command you for the Israelites.

After these things the word of the LORD came to Abram in a vision:“ Fear not, Abram! I am your shield and the one who will reward you in great abundance.”

and the people believed. When they heard that the LORD had attended to the Israelites and that he had seen their affliction, they bowed down close to the ground.Afterward Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh and said,“ Thus says the LORD, the God of Israel,‘ Release my people so that they may hold a pilgrim feast to me in the desert.’”But Pharaoh said,“ Who is the LORD that I should obey him by releasing Israel? I do not know the LORD, and I will not release Israel!”And they said,“ The God of the Hebrews has met with us. Let us go a three-day journey into the desert so that we may sacrifice to the LORD our God, so that he does not strike us with plague or the sword.”

Then Pharaoh summoned Moses and Aaron and said,“ Go, sacrifice to your God within the land.”But Moses said,“ That would not be the right thing to do, for the sacrifices we make to the LORD our God would be an abomination to the Egyptians. If we make sacrifices that are an abomination to the Egyptians right before their eyes, will they not stone us?We must go on a three-day journey into the desert and sacrifice to the LORD our God, just as he is telling us.”Pharaoh said,“ I will release you so that you may sacrifice to the LORD your God in the desert. Only you must not go very far. Do pray for me.”

And Balaam said to Balak,“ Station yourself here by your burnt offering, while I meet the LORD there.Then the LORD met Balaam and put a message in his mouth and said,“ Return to Balak, and speak what I tell you.”

You are to beat some of it very fine and put some of it before the ark of the testimony in the tent of meeting where I will meet with you; it is to be most holy to you.

You must place them in the tent of meeting before the ark of the covenant where I meet with you.

They did not ask:‘ Where is the LORD who delivered us out of Egypt, who brought us through the wilderness, through a land of desert sands and rift valleys, through a land of drought and deep darkness, through a land in which no one travels, and where no one lives?’

So Moses and Aaron came to Pharaoh and told him,“ Thus says the LORD, the God of the Hebrews:‘ How long do you refuse to humble yourself before me? Release my people so that they may serve me!

When Pharaoh released the people, God did not lead them by the way to the land of the Philistines, although that was nearby, for God said,“ Lest the people change their minds and return to Egypt when they experience war.”So God brought the people around by the way of the desert to the Red Sea, and the Israelites went up from the land of Egypt prepared for battle.

He replied,“ Surely I will be with you, and this will be the sign to you that I have sent you: When you bring the people out of Egypt, you and they will serve God on this mountain.”

Jacob said to Joseph,“ The sovereign God appeared to me at Luz in the land of Canaan and blessed me.

Your people willingly follow you when you go into battle. On the holy hills at sunrise the dew of your youth belongs to you.

When Abram was 99 years old, the LORD appeared to him and said,“ I am the sovereign God. Walk before me and be blameless.

“ Go and declare in the hearing of the people of Jerusalem:‘ This is what the LORD says:“ I have fond memories of you, how devoted you were to me in your early years. I remember how you loved me like a new bride; you followed me through the wilderness, through a land that had never been planted.

You assist those who delight in doing what is right, who observe your commandments. Look, you were angry because we violated them continually. How then can we be saved?

You must pay attention to the exhortations of my servants the prophets. I have sent them to you over and over again. But you have not paid any attention to them.

Balaam said to Balak,“ Station yourself by your burnt offering, and I will go off; perhaps the LORD will come to meet me, and whatever he reveals to me I will tell you.” Then he went to a deserted height.Then God met Balaam, who said to him,“ I have prepared seven altars, and I have offered on each altar a bull and a ram.”

In the third month after the Israelites went out from the land of Egypt, on the very day, they came to the Desert of Sinai.

Now on the way, at a place where they stopped for the night, the LORD met Moses and sought to kill him.

Now the LORD said to Abram,“ Go out from your country, your relatives, and your father’s household to the land that I will show you.
