Now Moses was keeping the flock of his father-in-law, Jethro, the priest of Midian, and he led his flock to the west side of the wilderness and came to Horeb, the mountain of God.

Now Moses was tending the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of Midian, and he led the flock to the far side of the wilderness and came to Horeb, the mountain of God.

Moses was taking care of the flock of his father- in- law Jethro. Jethro was the priest of Midian. Moses led the flock to the western side of the desert. He came to Horeb. It was the mountain of God.

One day Moses was tending the flock of his father in law, Jethro, the priest of Midian. He led the flock far into the wilderness and came to Sinai, the mountain of God.

Meanwhile, Moses was shepherding the flock of his father-in-law Jethro, the priest of Midian. He led the flock to the far side of the wilderness and came to Horeb, the mountain of God.

Now Moses was pasturing the flock of his father in law Jethro, the priest of Midian; and he led the flock to the west side of the wilderness and came to Horeb, the mountain of God.

Now Moses was tending the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of Midian. And he led the flock to the back of the desert, and came to Horeb, the mountain of God.

Now Moses was keeping the flock of Jethro his father- in- law, the priest of Midian: and he led the flock to the back of the wilderness, and came to the mountain of God, unto Horeb.

Meanwhile, Moses was shepherding the flock of his father-in-law Jethro, the priest of Midian. He led the flock to the far side of the wilderness and came to Horeb, the mountain of God.

Now Moses kept the flock of Jethro his father in law, the priest of Midian: and he led the flock to the backside of the desert, and came to the mountain of God,[ even] to Horeb.

Now Moses was shepherding the flock of his father-in-law Jethro, the priest of Midian, and he led the flock to the far side of the desert and came to the mountain of God, to Horeb.

Now Moses was keeping the flock of Jethro, his father- in- law, the priest of Midian, and he led the flock to the back of the wilderness, and came to God’s mountain, to Horeb.

And he arose and ate and drank, and went in the strength of that food forty days and forty nights to Horeb, the mount of God.

And Moses said to Hobab the son of Reuel the Midianite, Moses’ father-in-law,“ We are setting out for the place of which the Lord said,‘ I will give it to you.’ Come with us, and we will do good to you, for the Lord has promised good to Israel.”

Behold, I will stand before you there on the rock at Horeb, and you shall strike the rock, and water shall come out of it, and the people will drink.” And Moses did so, in the sight of the elders of Israel.

Now Heber the Kenite had separated from the Kenites, the descendants of Hobab the father-in-law of Moses, and had pitched his tent as far away as the oak in Zaanannim, which is near Kedesh.

Then Amos answered and said to Amaziah,“ I was no prophet, nor a prophet’s son, but I was a herdsman and a dresser of sycamore figs.But the Lord took me from following the flock, and the Lord said to me,‘ Go, prophesy to my people Israel.’

Then he said,“ Do not come near; take your sandals off your feet, for the place on which you are standing is holy ground.”

They made a calf in Horeb and worshiped a metal image.

how on the day that you stood before the Lord your God at Horeb, the Lord said to me,‘ Gather the people to me, that I may let them hear my words, so that they may learn to fear me all the days that they live on the earth, and that they may teach their children so.’

He chose David his servant and took him from the sheepfolds;from following the nursing ewes he brought him to shepherd Jacob his people, Israel his inheritance.With upright heart he shepherded them and guided them with his skillful hand.

So Moses rose with his assistant Joshua, and Moses went up into the mountain of God.

Jethro, the priest of Midian, Moses’ father-in-law, heard of all that God had done for Moses and for Israel his people, how the Lord had brought Israel out of Egypt.Now Jethro, Moses’ father-in-law, had taken Zipporah, Moses’ wife, after he had sent her home,along with her two sons. The name of the one was Gershom( for he said,“ I have been a sojourner in a foreign land”),and the name of the other, Eliezer( for he said,“ The God of my father was my help, and delivered me from the sword of Pharaoh”).Jethro, Moses’ father-in-law, came with his sons and his wife to Moses in the wilderness where he was encamped at the mountain of God.And when he sent word to Moses,“ I, your father-in-law Jethro, am coming to you with your wife and her two sons with her,”

while Moses went up to God. The Lord called to him out of the mountain, saying,“ Thus you shall say to the house of Jacob, and tell the people of Israel:

The words of Amos, who was among the shepherds of Tekoa, which he saw concerning Israel in the days of Uzziah king of Judah and in the days of Jeroboam the son of Joash, king of Israel, two years before the earthquake.

and be ready for the third day. For on the third day the Lord will come down on Mount Sinai in the sight of all the people.

The Lord said to Aaron,“ Go into the wilderness to meet Moses.” So he went and met him at the mountain of God and kissed him.

When they came home to their father Reuel, he said,“ How is it that you have come home so soon today?”

“ Remember the law of my servant Moses, the statutes and rules that I commanded him at Horeb for all Israel.

Now the priest of Midian had seven daughters, and they came and drew water and filled the troughs to water their father’s flock.

“ The Lord our God said to us in Horeb,‘ You have stayed long enough at this mountain.

Then Moses went up on the mountain, and the cloud covered the mountain.The glory of the Lord dwelt on Mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it six days. And on the seventh day he called to Moses out of the midst of the cloud.Now the appearance of the glory of the Lord was like a devouring fire on the top of the mountain in the sight of the people of Israel.

While walking by the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon( who is called Peter) and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea, for they were fishermen.And he said to them,“ Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.”

And Moses was content to dwell with the man, and he gave Moses his daughter Zipporah.

And in the same region there were shepherds out in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.
