Now Moses was tending the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of Midian, and he led the flock to the far side of the wilderness and came to Horeb, the mountain of God.

Moses was taking care of the flock of his father- in- law Jethro. Jethro was the priest of Midian. Moses led the flock to the western side of the desert. He came to Horeb. It was the mountain of God.

Now Moses was keeping the flock of his father-in-law, Jethro, the priest of Midian, and he led his flock to the west side of the wilderness and came to Horeb, the mountain of God.

One day Moses was tending the flock of his father in law, Jethro, the priest of Midian. He led the flock far into the wilderness and came to Sinai, the mountain of God.

Meanwhile, Moses was shepherding the flock of his father-in-law Jethro, the priest of Midian. He led the flock to the far side of the wilderness and came to Horeb, the mountain of God.

Now Moses was pasturing the flock of his father in law Jethro, the priest of Midian; and he led the flock to the west side of the wilderness and came to Horeb, the mountain of God.

Now Moses was tending the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of Midian. And he led the flock to the back of the desert, and came to Horeb, the mountain of God.

Now Moses was keeping the flock of Jethro his father- in- law, the priest of Midian: and he led the flock to the back of the wilderness, and came to the mountain of God, unto Horeb.

Meanwhile, Moses was shepherding the flock of his father-in-law Jethro, the priest of Midian. He led the flock to the far side of the wilderness and came to Horeb, the mountain of God.

Now Moses kept the flock of Jethro his father in law, the priest of Midian: and he led the flock to the backside of the desert, and came to the mountain of God,[ even] to Horeb.

Now Moses was shepherding the flock of his father-in-law Jethro, the priest of Midian, and he led the flock to the far side of the desert and came to the mountain of God, to Horeb.

於是他起來吃喝，靠著那食物的力量，他走了四十晝夜，直走到神的山，就是何烈山。

摩西對自己的岳父米甸人流珥的兒子何巴說：“我們要起行到耶和華應許的地方去，他曾說：‘我要把那地賜給你們’，現在求你與我們同去，我們必善待你，因為耶和華對以色列已經應許福樂。”

看哪，我必在何烈山那裡的磐石上站在你面前；你要擊打磐石，就必有水從磐石流出來，使人民可以喝。”摩西就在以色列的長老眼前這樣行了。

摩西的岳父何巴的子孫基尼人希伯，曾經離開基尼族人，到靠近基低斯的撒拿音的橡樹旁，支搭帳棚居住。

阿摩司回答亞瑪謝說：“我原不是先知，也不是先知的門徒；我本是牧人，是修理桑樹的，但耶和華選召我，叫我不再跟隨羊群；他對我說：‘你去，向我民以色列說預言。’

耶和華說：“不可過到這裡來；要把你腳上的鞋脫掉，因為你所站的地方是聖地。”

他們在何烈山做了牛犢，敬拜鑄成的偶像。

免得你忘了你在何烈山，站在耶和華你們的神面前的那天。那時耶和華對我說：‘你要為我召集眾民，我要叫他們聽我的話，使他們在那地上生活的日子，可以學習敬畏我，又可以教訓自己的兒女。’

他揀選了自己的僕人大衛，把他從羊圈中召出來；他領他出來，使他不再跟著那些母羊，卻要牧養他的子民雅各，和他的產業以色列。於是大衛以正直的心牧養他們，靈巧地引導他們。

於是，摩西和他的侍從約書亞起來；摩西就上到神的山那裡去了。

摩西的岳父，米甸祭司葉忒羅，聽見了神為摩西和他自己的人民以色列所行的一切，就是耶和華怎樣把以色列人從埃及領出來的事，他就帶著摩西的妻子西坡拉，摩西從前送了她回去，又帶著西坡拉的兩個兒子，一個名叫革舜，因為摩西說：“我在異地作了客旅”；一個名叫以利以謝，因為他說：“我父親的神是我的幫助，救我脫離了法老的刀。”摩西的岳父葉忒羅，和摩西的妻子與兩個兒子，來到曠野摩西那裡，就是到神的山，摩西安營的地方。葉忒羅叫人告訴摩西說：“你的岳父葉忒羅來見你，你的妻子和兩個兒子也一同來了。”

摩西上到神那裡去，耶和華從山上呼喚他，說：“你要這樣告訴雅各家，吩咐以色列人說：

提哥亞的牧人阿摩司，在猶大王烏西雅和以色列王約阿施的兒子耶羅波安作王的日子，大地震前二年所見的異象，就是有關以色列的話，記在下面。

第三天，他們要準備好了，因為第三天耶和華要在全體人民眼前降臨在西奈山。

耶和華對亞倫說：“你到曠野去迎接摩西。”他就去了；他在神的山遇見了摩西，就和他親吻。

她們回到父親流珥那裡，父親問：“今天你們為甚麼趕著回來呢？”

“你們要謹記我僕人摩西的律法，就是我在何烈山為以色列眾人所吩咐他的律例和典章。

米甸的祭司有七個女兒，她們來打水，打滿了水槽，要給父親的羊群喝。

“耶和華我們的神，在何烈山告訴我們：‘你們在這山上住夠了；

摩西上到山上，有雲彩把山遮蓋著。耶和華的榮耀停在西奈山上，雲彩把山遮蓋了六天；第七天，耶和華從雲彩中呼喚摩西。耶和華榮耀的景象，在以色列人眼前，好像在山頂上出現烈火。

耶穌在加利利海邊行走的時候，看見兄弟二人，就是名叫彼得的西門和他的弟弟安得烈，正在把網撒到海裡去；他們是漁夫。耶穌就對他們說：“來跟從我，我要使你們作得人的漁夫。”

摩西樂意和那人同住；那人把自己的女兒西坡拉給了摩西作妻子。

在伯利恆的郊外，有一些牧人在夜間看守羊群。
