Now Moses was tending the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of Midian, and he led the flock to the far side of the wilderness and came to Horeb, the mountain of God.

Moses was taking care of the flock of his father- in- law Jethro. Jethro was the priest of Midian. Moses led the flock to the western side of the desert. He came to Horeb. It was the mountain of God.

Now Moses was keeping the flock of his father-in-law, Jethro, the priest of Midian, and he led his flock to the west side of the wilderness and came to Horeb, the mountain of God.

One day Moses was tending the flock of his father in law, Jethro, the priest of Midian. He led the flock far into the wilderness and came to Sinai, the mountain of God.

Meanwhile, Moses was shepherding the flock of his father-in-law Jethro, the priest of Midian. He led the flock to the far side of the wilderness and came to Horeb, the mountain of God.

Now Moses was pasturing the flock of his father in law Jethro, the priest of Midian; and he led the flock to the west side of the wilderness and came to Horeb, the mountain of God.

Now Moses was tending the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of Midian. And he led the flock to the back of the desert, and came to Horeb, the mountain of God.

Now Moses was keeping the flock of Jethro his father- in- law, the priest of Midian: and he led the flock to the back of the wilderness, and came to the mountain of God, unto Horeb.

Meanwhile, Moses was shepherding the flock of his father-in-law Jethro, the priest of Midian. He led the flock to the far side of the wilderness and came to Horeb, the mountain of God.

Now Moses kept the flock of Jethro his father in law, the priest of Midian: and he led the flock to the backside of the desert, and came to the mountain of God,[ even] to Horeb.

Now Moses was shepherding the flock of his father-in-law Jethro, the priest of Midian, and he led the flock to the far side of the desert and came to the mountain of God, to Horeb.

以利亚起来吃喝，就有了力气，走了四十昼夜，来到上帝的山——何烈山。

摩西对岳父流珥之子米甸人何巴说：“我们就要动身前往耶和华应许给我们的地方，祂曾说要把那地方赐给我们。请你跟我们一起去吧，我们必厚待你，耶和华已经应许要赐福给以色列人。”

我必在何烈的磐石那里等候你们，你用杖击打磐石，磐石必流出水来给众人喝。”摩西便当着以色列长老的面这样做了。

摩西的岳父何巴的后人基尼人希百离开自己的族人，在基低斯附近撒拿音的橡树旁搭帐篷居住。

我答道：“我本不是先知，也不是先知的门徒。我只是一个牧人，也替人看护桑树。但耶和华不再让我看守羊群，祂对我说，‘去！向我的以色列子民说预言。’

上帝说：“别再靠近，脱下你脚上的鞋子，因为你所站的地方是圣地。”

他们在何烈山铸造牛犊，祭拜偶像，

那天，你们在何烈山站在你们的上帝耶和华面前，耶和华对我说，‘把民众招聚起来，让他们听我的教诲，学习一生敬畏我，并传授给自己的儿女。’

祂拣选了祂的仆人大卫，把他从羊圈中召来，让他离开牧羊的生活，去牧养祂的子民雅各的后裔，牧养祂的产业以色列。于是，大卫以正直的心牧养他们，用灵巧的手带领他们。

于是，摩西带着他的助手约书亚动身上了上帝的山。

摩西的岳父——米甸的祭司叶忒罗，听说上帝为摩西和祂的子民以色列人所做的一切事——如何带领他们离开埃及，就带着女儿西坡拉和两个外孙去见摩西。西坡拉是摩西的妻子，摩西曾让她回娘家暂时居住。摩西的两个儿子一个叫革舜，因为摩西说：“我成了在异乡寄居的人”；一个叫以利以谢，因为摩西说：“我父亲的上帝帮助我，从法老的刀下拯救了我。”摩西的岳父叶忒罗带着摩西的妻子和两个儿子来到上帝的山，就是摩西在旷野安营的地方。叶忒罗事先差人把他带着摩西的妻子和两个儿子要来的消息通知摩西。

摩西上山到上帝那里，耶和华从山上呼唤他说：“你告诉雅各家，告诉以色列人，

犹大王乌西雅、约阿施的儿子以色列王耶罗波安执政期间，大地震前两年，提哥亚的牧人阿摩司看到了关于以色列的异象。以下是阿摩司的话。

到后天都要预备好，因为这一天耶和华要在百姓眼前降临在西奈山上。

耶和华对亚伦说：“你到旷野去迎接摩西。”他就在上帝的山上遇见摩西，并亲吻他。

她们回到父亲流珥那里，父亲问她们：“你们今天怎么这么快就回来了？”

“你们要记住我仆人摩西的律法，就是我在何烈山借着他传给以色列人的律例和典章。

米甸祭司的七个女儿来打水，要把水倒进槽里饮她们父亲的羊。

“我们的上帝耶和华在何烈山对我们说，‘你们在这里已经住了多日，

摩西上了山，密云遮盖着整座山。耶和华的荣耀停留在西奈山上，密云遮盖了山六天。第七天，耶和华在云中召唤摩西。在以色列人眼中，耶和华的荣耀在山上好像烈火。

耶稣沿着加利利湖边行走的时候，看见被称为彼得的西门和安得烈两兄弟正在撒网打鱼，他们是渔夫。耶稣对他们说：“来跟从我！我要使你们成为得人的渔夫。”

后来，摩西同意住在那人家里。那人把女儿西坡拉许配给他。

当晚，伯利恒郊外有一群牧羊人正在看守羊群。
