Now Moses was tending the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of Midian, and he led the flock to the far side of the wilderness and came to Horeb, the mountain of God.

Moses was taking care of the flock of his father- in- law Jethro. Jethro was the priest of Midian. Moses led the flock to the western side of the desert. He came to Horeb. It was the mountain of God.

Now Moses was keeping the flock of his father-in-law, Jethro, the priest of Midian, and he led his flock to the west side of the wilderness and came to Horeb, the mountain of God.

One day Moses was tending the flock of his father in law, Jethro, the priest of Midian. He led the flock far into the wilderness and came to Sinai, the mountain of God.

Meanwhile, Moses was shepherding the flock of his father-in-law Jethro, the priest of Midian. He led the flock to the far side of the wilderness and came to Horeb, the mountain of God.

Now Moses was pasturing the flock of his father in law Jethro, the priest of Midian; and he led the flock to the west side of the wilderness and came to Horeb, the mountain of God.

Now Moses was tending the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of Midian. And he led the flock to the back of the desert, and came to Horeb, the mountain of God.

Now Moses was keeping the flock of Jethro his father- in- law, the priest of Midian: and he led the flock to the back of the wilderness, and came to the mountain of God, unto Horeb.

Meanwhile, Moses was shepherding the flock of his father-in-law Jethro, the priest of Midian. He led the flock to the far side of the wilderness and came to Horeb, the mountain of God.

Now Moses kept the flock of Jethro his father in law, the priest of Midian: and he led the flock to the backside of the desert, and came to the mountain of God,[ even] to Horeb.

Now Moses was shepherding the flock of his father-in-law Jethro, the priest of Midian, and he led the flock to the far side of the desert and came to the mountain of God, to Horeb.

Now Moses was keeping the flock of Jethro, his father- in- law, the priest of Midian, and he led the flock to the back of the wilderness, and came to God’s mountain, to Horeb.

So he got up and ate and drank. Strengthened by that food, he traveled forty days and forty nights until he reached Horeb, the mountain of God. (niv)

Now Moses said to Hobab son of Reuel the Midianite, Moses’ father-in-law,“ We are setting out for the place about which the Lord said,‘ I will give it to you.’ Come with us and we will treat you well, for the Lord has promised good things to Israel.” (niv)

I will stand there before you by the rock at Horeb. Strike the rock, and water will come out of it for the people to drink.” So Moses did this in the sight of the elders of Israel. (niv)

Now Heber the Kenite had left the other Kenites, the descendants of Hobab, Moses’ brother-in-law, and pitched his tent by the great tree in Zaanannim near Kedesh. (niv)

Amos answered Amaziah,“ I was neither a prophet nor the son of a prophet, but I was a shepherd, and I also took care of sycamore- fig trees.But the Lord took me from tending the flock and said to me,‘ Go, prophesy to my people Israel.’ (niv)

“ Do not come any closer,” God said.“ Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy ground.” (niv)

At Horeb they made a calf and worshiped an idol cast from metal. (niv)

Remember the day you stood before the Lord your God at Horeb, when he said to me,“ Assemble the people before me to hear my words so that they may learn to revere me as long as they live in the land and may teach them to their children.” (niv)

He chose David his servant and took him from the sheep pens;from tending the sheep he brought him to be the shepherd of his people Jacob, of Israel his inheritance.And David shepherded them with integrity of heart; with skillful hands he led them. (niv)

Then Moses set out with Joshua his aide, and Moses went up on the mountain of God. (niv)

Now Jethro, the priest of Midian and father-in-law of Moses, heard of everything God had done for Moses and for his people Israel, and how the Lord had brought Israel out of Egypt.After Moses had sent away his wife Zipporah, his father-in-law Jethro received herand her two sons. One son was named Gershom, for Moses said,“ I have become a foreigner in a foreign land”;and the other was named Eliezer, for he said,“ My father’s God was my helper; he saved me from the sword of Pharaoh.”Jethro, Moses’ father-in-law, together with Moses’ sons and wife, came to him in the wilderness, where he was camped near the mountain of God.Jethro had sent word to him,“ I, your father-in-law Jethro, am coming to you with your wife and her two sons.” (niv)

Then Moses went up to God, and the Lord called to him from the mountain and said,“ This is what you are to say to the descendants of Jacob and what you are to tell the people of Israel: (niv)

The words of Amos, one of the shepherds of Tekoa— the vision he saw concerning Israel two years before the earthquake, when Uzziah was king of Judah and Jeroboam son of Jehoash was king of Israel. (niv)

and be ready by the third day, because on that day the Lord will come down on Mount Sinai in the sight of all the people. (niv)

The Lord said to Aaron,“ Go into the wilderness to meet Moses.” So he met Moses at the mountain of God and kissed him. (niv)

When the girls returned to Reuel their father, he asked them,“ Why have you returned so early today?” (niv)

“ Remember the law of my servant Moses, the decrees and laws I gave him at Horeb for all Israel. (niv)

Now a priest of Midian had seven daughters, and they came to draw water and fill the troughs to water their father’s flock. (niv)

The Lord our God said to us at Horeb,“ You have stayed long enough at this mountain. (niv)

When Moses went up on the mountain, the cloud covered it,and the glory of the Lord settled on Mount Sinai. For six days the cloud covered the mountain, and on the seventh day the Lord called to Moses from within the cloud.To the Israelites the glory of the Lord looked like a consuming fire on top of the mountain. (niv)

As Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon called Peter and his brother Andrew. They were casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen.“ Come, follow me,” Jesus said,“ and I will send you out to fish for people.” (niv)

Moses agreed to stay with the man, who gave his daughter Zipporah to Moses in marriage. (niv)

And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. (niv)
