The rest of the oil in his palm the priest shall put on the head of the one to be cleansed, to make atonement for them before the Lord. (niv)

It is like precious oil poured on the head, running down on the beard, running down on Aaron’s beard, down on the collar of his robe. (niv)

The priest shall then take some of the log of oil, pour it in the palm of his own left hand,dip his right forefinger into the oil in his palm, and with his finger sprinkle some of it before the Lord seven times.The priest is to put some of the oil remaining in his palm on the lobe of the right ear of the one to be cleansed, on the thumb of their right hand and on the big toe of their right foot, on top of the blood of the guilt offering.The rest of the oil in his palm the priest shall put on the head of the one to be cleansed and make atonement for them before the Lord. Make these into a sacred anointing oil, a fragrant blend, the work of a perfumer. It will be the sacred anointing oil.Then use it to anoint the tent of meeting, the ark of the covenant law,the table and all its articles, the lampstand and its accessories, the altar of incense,the altar of burnt offering and all its utensils, and the basin with its stand.You shall consecrate them so they will be most holy, and whatever touches them will be holy.“ Anoint Aaron and his sons and consecrate them so they may serve me as priests.Say to the Israelites,‘ This is to be my sacred anointing oil for the generations to come. (niv)

How much more severely do you think someone deserves to be punished who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, who has treated as an unholy thing the blood of the covenant that sanctified them, and who has insulted the Spirit of grace? (niv)

The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners,to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn,and provide for those who grieve in Zion— to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor. (niv)

The Spirit of the Lord will rest on him— the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding, the Spirit of counsel and of might, the Spirit of the knowledge and fear of the Lord—and he will delight in the fear of the Lord. He will not judge by what he sees with his eyes, or decide by what he hears with his ears;but with righteousness he will judge the needy, with justice he will give decisions for the poor of the earth. He will strike the earth with the rod of his mouth; with the breath of his lips he will slay the wicked.Righteousness will be his belt and faithfulness the sash around his waist. (niv)

For them I sanctify myself, that they too may be truly sanctified. (niv)
