耶和华闻到了那馨香之气，就心里说：“我绝不再因人的缘故诅咒这地，尽管人从年幼时就心怀邪恶；我也绝不再像我曾做的，毁灭所有的活物。

以撒对父亲亚伯拉罕说：“父亲哪！”亚伯拉罕说：“我儿啊，我在这里！”以撒说：“看哪，火和木柴都有了，但燔祭用的羔羊在哪里呢？”

以全心、全智、全力来爱神，并且要爱邻如己，这是比所有的燔祭和各种祭祀都重要的。”

要在爱中行事，就像基督也爱了我们，为我们舍弃了自己，做供物和祭物献给神，成为馨香的气味。

耶和华说：“你们所献的众多祭物，对我有什么意义呢？公绵羊的燔祭和肥畜的脂油，我已经腻烦了；公牛、羊羔和公山羊的血，我也不喜悦。

神说：“带上你的儿子，就是你所爱的独生子以撒，往摩利亚地去；在我将要指示你的山上，把他献为燔祭。”

燔祭和赎罪祭不是你所喜悦的；于是我说：‘看哪，我来了！关于我的事，经卷上已经记载了。神哪，我来是要遵行你的旨意！’”上文说：祭物、供物、燔祭和赎罪祭不是你所希望的，也不是你所喜悦的，尽管这些都是照着律法献上的；接着又说：“看哪，我来了！是要遵行你的旨意！”神废除前者，是为了确立后者。我们凭着这旨意，藉着耶稣基督身体做供物，就已经一次性地被分别为圣了。

我不是因你的祭物责备你，你的燔祭一直在我面前。

撒母耳取来一只吃奶的羊羔，作为全牲燔祭献给耶和华。然后撒母耳为以色列呼求耶和华，耶和华就回应他。

亚伯拉罕举目观看，看哪，身后有一只公绵羊，犄角被灌木丛缠住了！亚伯拉罕就走过去，取了那只公绵羊，代替自己的儿子献为燔祭。

如今我一切都得到了，并且丰足有余。我已经得以满足了，因为我从以帕弗迪托接受了来自你们的东西；那是馨香的气味，是神所悦纳、所喜悦的祭物。
