耶和华闻到这燔祭的馨香，心想：“虽然人从小就心存恶念，但我再不会因为人的缘故而咒诅大地，再不会毁灭一切生灵。

以撒说：“父亲。”亚伯拉罕说：“孩子，什么事？”以撒说：“你看，火种和柴都有了，但献燔祭用的羊羔在哪里呢？”

有一次，所罗门王上基遍献了一千头祭牲作燔祭，因为那里有最重要的丘坛。

有火从耶和华那里降下来，烧尽祭坛上的燔祭和脂肪。民众看见这景象，都欢呼起来，俯伏在地。

于是，耶和华降火烧尽了祭物、木柴、石头、尘土，甚至沟里的水。

我们要全心、全意、全力爱祂，又要爱邻如己。这样做比献什么祭都好。”

要以爱心待人，像基督爱我们一样，祂为我们牺牲自己作为献给上帝的馨香供物和祭物。

耶和华说：“你们献上许多祭物，对我有什么用呢？我厌烦公绵羊的燔祭和肥畜的脂肪，我不喜欢公牛、羊羔和公山羊的血。

上帝说：“带着你的儿子，你的独生子，你疼爱的以撒前往摩利亚，在我指示你的山上把他献为燔祭。”

你并非喜爱燔祭和赎罪祭。于是我说，‘上帝啊，我来是要遵行你的旨意，我的事都记在圣经上了。’”基督首先说：“祭物、供物、燔祭和赎罪祭都不是你想要的，也不是你喜悦的。”这些都是依照律法献上的。然后祂又说：“我来是要遵行你的旨意。”这样，祂废除了前者，为要设立后者。上帝的旨意是：耶稣基督只一次献上自己的身体，便使我们永远圣洁了。

我责怪你，不是因为你的祭物，也不是因为你经常献给我的燔祭。

撒母耳把一只还在吃奶的羊献给耶和华作全牲燔祭。他为以色列人呼求耶和华，耶和华垂听了他的祈求。

从示巴运来乳香，从远方带来菖蒲献给我，有什么用呢？我不悦纳他们的燔祭，不喜欢他们的牲畜。”

这时亚伯拉罕抬起头来，突然看见有一只公绵羊两角卡在稠密的树丛中，于是把羊取来代替他的儿子献为燔祭。

我现在样样都有，丰富有余。我从以巴弗提手上收到了你们送给我的礼物，已经充足了。这些馈赠是蒙上帝悦纳的馨香祭物。

祭司要抓着两个翅膀把鸟撕开，但不可撕断，然后把鸟放在坛上焚烧。这是燔祭，是蒙耶和华悦纳的馨香火祭。
