When Abiathar the son of Ahimelech fled to David to Keilah, he came down with an ephod in his hand.

He made the ephod of gold, blue, purple, scarlet, and fine twined linen.They beat the gold into thin plates, and cut it into wires, to work it in with the blue, the purple, the scarlet, and the fine linen, the work of the skillful workman.They made shoulder straps for it, joined together. It was joined together at the two ends.The skillfully woven band that was on it, with which to fasten it on, was of the same piece, like its work: of gold, of blue, purple, scarlet, and fine twined linen, as Yahweh commanded Moses.

But Samuel ministered before Yahweh, being a child, clothed with a linen ephod.

They were enclosed in gold settings.The stones were according to the names of the children of Israel, twelve, according to their names; like the engravings of a signet, everyone according to his name, for the twelve tribes.They made on the breastplate chains like cords, of braided work of pure gold.They made two settings of gold, and two gold rings, and put the two rings on the two ends of the breastplate.They put the two braided chains of gold in the two rings at the ends of the breastplate.The other two ends of the two braided chains they put on the two settings, and put them on the shoulder straps of the ephod, in its front.They made two rings of gold, and put them on the two ends of the breastplate, on its edge, which was toward the side of the ephod inward.They made two more rings of gold, and put them on the two shoulder straps of the ephod underneath, in its front, close by its coupling, above the skillfully woven band of the ephod.They bound the breastplate by its rings to the rings of the ephod with a lace of blue, that it might be on the skillfully woven band of the ephod, and that the breastplate might not come loose from the ephod, as Yahweh commanded Moses.He made the robe of the ephod of woven work, all of blue.

The king said to Doeg,“ Turn and attack the priests!” Doeg the Edomite turned, and he attacked the priests, and he killed on that day eighty- five people who wore a linen ephod.

Thus I saw the horses in the vision, and those who sat on them, having breastplates of fiery red, hyacinth blue, and sulfur yellow; and the horses’ heads resembled lions’ heads. Out of their mouths proceed fire, smoke, and sulfur.

Righteousness will be the belt of his waist, and faithfulness the belt of his waist.

Aaron shall bear the judgment of the children of Israel on his heart before Yahweh continually.“ You shall make the robe of the ephod all of blue.It shall have a hole for the head in the middle of it. It shall have a binding of woven work around its hole, as it were the hole of a coat of mail, that it not be torn.On its hem you shall make pomegranates of blue, and of purple, and of scarlet, all around its hem; with bells of gold between and around them:a golden bell and a pomegranate, a golden bell and a pomegranate, around the hem of the robe.It shall be on Aaron to minister: and its sound shall be heard when he goes in to the holy place before Yahweh, and when he comes out, that he not die.

They made bells of pure gold, and put the bells between the pomegranates around the skirts of the robe, between the pomegranates;a bell and a pomegranate, a bell and a pomegranate, around the skirts of the robe, to minister in, as Yahweh commanded Moses.

David danced before Yahweh with all his might; and David was clothed in a linen ephod.

He put on righteousness as a breastplate, and a helmet of salvation on his head. He put on garments of vengeance for clothing, and was clad with zeal as a mantle.

He put the tunic on him, tied the sash on him, clothed him with the robe, put the ephod on him, and he tied the skillfully woven band of the ephod on him and fastened it to him with it.He placed the breastplate on him. He put the Urim and Thummim in the breastplate.He set the turban on his head. He set the golden plate, the holy crown, on the front of the turban, as Yahweh commanded Moses.
