They were mounted in gold filigree settings.There were twelve stones, one for each of the names of the sons of Israel, each engraved like a seal with the name of one of the twelve tribes.For the breastpiece they made braided chains of pure gold, like a rope.They made two gold filigree settings and two gold rings, and fastened the rings to two of the corners of the breastpiece.They fastened the two gold chains to the rings at the corners of the breastpiece,and the other ends of the chains to the two settings, attaching them to the shoulder pieces of the ephod at the front.They made two gold rings and attached them to the other two corners of the breastpiece on the inside edge next to the ephod.Then they made two more gold rings and attached them to the bottom of the shoulder pieces on the front of the ephod, close to the seam just above the waistband of the ephod.They tied the rings of the breastpiece to the rings of the ephod with blue cord, connecting it to the waistband so that the breastpiece would not swing out from the ephod— as the Lord commanded Moses.They made the robe of the ephod entirely of blue cloth— the work of a weaver— (niv)

The king then ordered Doeg,“ You turn and strike down the priests.” So Doeg the Edomite turned and struck them down. That day he killed eighty-five men who wore the linen ephod. (niv)

The horses and riders I saw in my vision looked like this: Their breastplates were fiery red, dark blue, and yellow as sulfur. The heads of the horses resembled the heads of lions, and out of their mouths came fire, smoke and sulfur. (niv)

Then mount the stones in gold filigree settingsand fasten them on the shoulder pieces of the ephod as memorial stones for the sons of Israel. Aaron is to bear the names on his shoulders as a memorial before the Lord.Make gold filigree settingsand two braided chains of pure gold, like a rope, and attach the chains to the settings.“ Fashion a breastpiece for making decisions— the work of skilled hands. Make it like the ephod: of gold, and of blue, purple and scarlet yarn, and of finely twisted linen.It is to be square— a span long and a span wide— and folded double.Then mount four rows of precious stones on it. Thus Aaron will always bear the means of making decisions for the Israelites over his heart before the Lord.“ Make the robe of the ephod entirely of blue cloth,with an opening for the head in its center. There shall be a woven edge like a collar around this opening, so that it will not tear.Make pomegranates of blue, purple and scarlet yarn around the hem of the robe, with gold bells between them.The gold bells and the pomegranates are to alternate around the hem of the robe.Aaron must wear it when he ministers. The sound of the bells will be heard when he enters the Holy Place before the Lord and when he comes out, so that he will not die. (niv)

And they made bells of pure gold and attached them around the hem between the pomegranates.The bells and pomegranates alternated around the hem of the robe to be worn for ministering, as the Lord commanded Moses. (niv)

Wearing a linen ephod, David was dancing before the Lord with all his might, (niv)

He put on righteousness as his breastplate, and the helmet of salvation on his head; he put on the garments of vengeance and wrapped himself in zeal as in a cloak. (niv)

He put the tunic on Aaron, tied the sash around him, clothed him with the robe and put the ephod on him. He also fastened the ephod with a decorative waistband, which he tied around him.He placed the breastpiece on him and put the Urim and Thummim in the breastpiece.Then he placed the turban on Aaron’s head and set the gold plate, the sacred emblem, on the front of it, as the Lord commanded Moses.
