When Abiathar the son of Ahimelech had fled to David to Keilah, he had come down with an ephod in his hand.

He made the ephod of gold, blue and purple and scarlet yarns, and fine twined linen.And they hammered out gold leaf, and he cut it into threads to work into the blue and purple and the scarlet yarns, and into the fine twined linen, in skilled design.They made for the ephod attaching shoulder pieces, joined to it at its two edges.And the skillfully woven band on it was of one piece with it and made like it, of gold, blue and purple and scarlet yarns, and fine twined linen, as the Lord had commanded Moses.

Samuel was ministering before the Lord, a boy clothed with a linen ephod.

They were enclosed in settings of gold filigree.There were twelve stones with their names according to the names of the sons of Israel. They were like signets, each engraved with its name, for the twelve tribes.And they made on the breastpiece twisted chains like cords, of pure gold.And they made two settings of gold filigree and two gold rings, and put the two rings on the two edges of the breastpiece.And they put the two cords of gold in the two rings at the edges of the breastpiece.They attached the two ends of the two cords to the two settings of filigree. Thus they attached it in front to the shoulder pieces of the ephod.Then they made two rings of gold, and put them at the two ends of the breastpiece, on its inside edge next to the ephod.And they made two rings of gold, and attached them in front to the lower part of the two shoulder pieces of the ephod, at its seam above the skillfully woven band of the ephod.And they bound the breastpiece by its rings to the rings of the ephod with a lace of blue, so that it should lie on the skillfully woven band of the ephod, and that the breastpiece should not come loose from the ephod, as the Lord had commanded Moses.He also made the robe of the ephod woven all of blue,

Then the king said to Doeg,“ You turn and strike the priests.” And Doeg the Edomite turned and struck down the priests, and he killed on that day eighty-five persons who wore the linen ephod.

And this is how I saw the horses in my vision and those who rode them: they wore breastplates the color of fire and of sapphire and of sulfur, and the heads of the horses were like lions’ heads, and fire and smoke and sulfur came out of their mouths.

Righteousness shall be the belt of his waist, and faithfulness the belt of his loins.

You shall enclose them in settings of gold filigree.And you shall set the two stones on the shoulder pieces of the ephod, as stones of remembrance for the sons of Israel. And Aaron shall bear their names before the Lord on his two shoulders for remembrance.You shall make settings of gold filigree,and two chains of pure gold, twisted like cords; and you shall attach the corded chains to the settings.“ You shall make a breastpiece of judgment, in skilled work. In the style of the ephod you shall make it— of gold, blue and purple and scarlet yarns, and fine twined linen shall you make it.It shall be square and doubled, a span its length and a span its breadth.You shall set in it four rows of stones. Thus Aaron shall bear the judgment of the people of Israel on his heart before the Lord regularly.“ You shall make the robe of the ephod all of blue.It shall have an opening for the head in the middle of it, with a woven binding around the opening, like the opening in a garment, so that it may not tear.On its hem you shall make pomegranates of blue and purple and scarlet yarns, around its hem, with bells of gold between them,a golden bell and a pomegranate, a golden bell and a pomegranate, around the hem of the robe.And it shall be on Aaron when he ministers, and its sound shall be heard when he goes into the Holy Place before the Lord, and when he comes out, so that he does not die.

They also made bells of pure gold, and put the bells between the pomegranates all around the hem of the robe, between the pomegranates—a bell and a pomegranate, a bell and a pomegranate around the hem of the robe for ministering, as the Lord had commanded Moses.

And David danced before the Lord with all his might. And David was wearing a linen ephod.

He put on righteousness as a breastplate, and a helmet of salvation on his head; he put on garments of vengeance for clothing, and wrapped himself in zeal as a cloak.

And he put the coat on him and tied the sash around his waist and clothed him with the robe and put the ephod on him and tied the skillfully woven band of the ephod around him, binding it to him with the band.And he placed the breastpiece on him, and in the breastpiece he put the Urim and the Thummim.And he set the turban on his head, and on the turban, in front, he set the golden plate, the holy crown, as the Lord commanded Moses.
