因為那預備好了的帳幕，第一層叫聖所，裏面有燈臺、供桌和供餅。

「你要造一座用純金錘出的燈臺。燈臺的座、幹、杯、花萼和花瓣，都要和燈臺接連一塊。燈臺兩旁要伸出六根枝子：這邊三根，那邊三根。這邊枝子上有三個杯，形狀像杏花，有花萼有花瓣；那邊枝子上也有三個杯，形狀像杏花，有花萼有花瓣。從燈臺伸出來的六根枝子都是如此。燈臺本身要有四個杯，形狀像杏花，有花萼有花瓣。燈臺的第一對枝子下面有花萼，燈臺的第二對枝子下面有花萼，燈臺的第三對枝子下面也有花萼；燈臺伸出的六根枝子都是如此。花萼和枝子都要和燈臺接連一塊，全是從一塊純金錘出來的。要做燈臺的七盞燈，燈要點燃，照亮前面。

聖靈藉此指明，第一層帳幕仍存在的時候，進入至聖所的路還沒有顯示。那第一層帳幕是現今時代的一個預表，表示所獻的禮物和祭物都不能使敬拜的人在良心上得以完全。
