Then he took the Book of the Covenant and read it to the people. They responded,“ We will do everything the Lord has said; we will obey.”

He then took the covenant scroll and read it aloud to the people. They responded,“ We will do and obey everything that the Lord has commanded.”

摩西下山，向百姓陳述耶和華一切的命令和典章。眾百姓齊聲說：「耶和華所吩咐的一切，我們都必遵行。」摩西將耶和華一切的命令都寫下來。他清早起來，在山腳築了一座壇，按着以色列十二支派立了十二根石柱。

當以色列眾人來到耶和華－你神所選擇的地方朝見他的時候，你要在以色列眾人面前念這律法給他們聽。要召集百姓，男人、女人、孩子，和在你城裏寄居的，叫他們都得以聽見，好學習敬畏耶和華－你們的神，謹守遵行這律法的一切話。他們的兒女，就是那未曾認識的，也可以聽，學習敬畏耶和華－你們的神；你們一生的日子，在你們過約旦河得為業的地上，都要這樣做。」

所以，第一個約也是用血立的。因為摩西當日照着律法將各樣誡命傳給眾百姓，就拿朱紅色絨和牛膝草，把牛犢、山羊的血和水灑在書上，又灑在眾百姓身上，說：「這血就是神與你們立約的憑據。」他又照樣把血灑在帳幕和敬拜用的各樣器皿上。按着律法，幾乎每樣東西都是用血潔淨的；沒有流血，就沒有赦罪。這樣，照着天上樣式做的物件必須用這些禮儀去潔淨，但那天上的一切，自然當用更美的祭物去潔淨。

我只吩咐他們這一件事說：『你們當聽從我的話，我就作你們的神，你們也作我的子民。你們行走我所吩咐的一切道路，就可以得福。』他們卻不聽從，也不側耳而聽，竟隨從自己的計謀和頑梗的惡心去行，不進反退。

我指着主囑咐你們，要把這信宣讀給眾弟兄聽。

在讀完了律法和先知的書，會堂主管們叫人過去，對他們說：「二位弟兄，你們若有甚麼勸勉眾人的話，請說。」

你們宣讀了這書信，也要交給老底嘉的教會宣讀；你們也要宣讀從老底嘉轉來的書信。
