Then Moses entered the cloud as he went on up the mountain. And he stayed on the mountain forty days and forty nights.

Moses was there with the Lord forty days and forty nights without eating bread or drinking water. And he wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant— the Ten Commandments. (niv)

When I went up on the mountain to receive the tablets of stone, the tablets of the covenant that the Lord had made with you, I stayed on the mountain forty days and forty nights; I ate no bread and drank no water. (niv)

Now I had stayed on the mountain forty days and forty nights, as I did the first time, and the Lord listened to me at this time also. It was not his will to destroy you. (niv)

Then Moses left Pharaoh and went out of the city. He spread out his hands toward the Lord; the thunder and hail stopped, and the rain no longer poured down on the land. (niv)

The wicked flee though no one pursues, but the righteous are as bold as a lion. (niv)

To the Israelites the glory of the Lord looked like a consuming fire on top of the mountain. (niv)

After fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry. (niv)

and he was in the wilderness forty days, being tempted by Satan. He was with the wild animals, and angels attended him. (niv)

where for forty days he was tempted by the devil. He ate nothing during those days, and at the end of them he was hungry. (niv)

Moses replied,“ When I have gone out of the city, I will spread out my hands in prayer to the Lord. The thunder will stop and there will be no more hail, so you may know that the earth is the Lord’s. (niv)

So he got up and ate and drank. Strengthened by that food, he traveled forty days and forty nights until he reached Horeb, the mountain of God. (niv)

The Lord descended to the top of Mount Sinai and called Moses to the top of the mountain. So Moses went up (niv)
