You must not oppress a resident alien; you yourselves know how it feels to be a resident alien because you were resident aliens in the land of Egypt.

“ Do not oppress a foreigner; you yourselves know how it feels to be foreigners, because you were foreigners in Egypt.

“ You shall not oppress a sojourner. You know the heart of a sojourner, for you were sojourners in the land of Egypt.

“ You shall not oppress a stranger, since you yourselves know the feelings of a stranger, for you also were strangers in the land of Egypt.

“ Also you shall not oppress a stranger, for you know the heart of a stranger, because you were strangers in the land of Egypt.

And a sojourner shalt thou not oppress: for ye know the heart of a sojourner, seeing ye were sojourners in the land of Egypt.

Also thou shalt not oppress a stranger: for ye know the heart of a stranger, seeing ye were strangers in the land of Egypt.

‘ The one who denies justice to a resident alien, a fatherless child, or a widow is cursed.’ And all the people will say,‘ Amen!’

They kill the widow and the resident alien and murder the fatherless.

Shouldn’t you also have had mercy on your fellow servant, as I had mercy on you?’

“ Do not oppress a hired worker who is poor and needy, whether one of your Israelite brothers or one of the resident aliens in a town in your land.You are to pay him his wages each day before the sun sets, because he is poor and depends on them. Otherwise he will cry out to the LORD against you, and you will be held guilty.“ Fathers are not to be put to death for their children, and children are not to be put to death for their fathers; each person will be put to death for his own sin.Do not deny justice to a resident alien or fatherless child, and do not take a widow’s garment as security.Remember that you were a slave in Egypt, and the LORD your God redeemed you from there. Therefore I am commanding you to do this.

You are also to love the resident alien, since you were resident aliens in the land of Egypt.

Therefore, he had to be like his brothers and sisters in every way, so that he could become a merciful and faithful high priest in matters pertaining to God, to make atonement for the sins of the people.For since he himself has suffered when he was tempted, he is able to help those who are tempted.

However, if the slave can stand up after a day or two, the owner should not be punished because he is his owner’s property.

Father and mother are treated with contempt, and the resident alien is exploited within you. The fatherless and widow are oppressed in you.
