“ I will send my terror ahead of you and create panic among all the people whose lands you invade. I will make all your enemies turn and run.

“ I will send my terror ahead of you and throw into confusion every nation you encounter. I will make all your enemies turn their backs and run.

As they set out, a terror from God spread over the people in all the towns of that area, so no one attacked Jacob’s family.

You placed my foot on their necks. I have destroyed all who hated me.

No one will be able to stand against you, for the Lord your God will cause the people to fear and dread you, as he promised, wherever you go in the whole land.

“ I know the Lord has given you this land,” she told them.“ We are all afraid of you. The peoples hear and tremble; anguish grips those who live in Philistia.The leaders of Edom are terrified; the nobles of Moab tremble. All who live in Canaan melt away;terror and dread fall upon them. The power of your arm makes them lifeless as stone until your people pass by, O Lord, until the people you purchased pass by.

For the Lord had caused the Aramean army to hear the clatter of speeding chariots and the galloping of horses and the sounds of a great army approaching.“ The king of Israel has hired the Hittites and Egyptians to attack us!” they cried to one another.

Then the Lord will drive out all the nations ahead of you, though they are much greater and stronger than you, and you will take over their land.

While they were at Gerar, they attacked all the towns in that area, and terror from the Lord came upon the people there. As a result, a vast amount of plunder was taken from these towns, too.
