对他们说：“我知道耶和华已经把这地赐给你们，并且因你们的缘故我们都惊慌了。这地的一切居民在你们面前心都消化了；因为我们听见你们出埃及的时候，耶和华怎样在你们前面使红海的水干了，并且你们怎样待约旦河东的两个亚摩利王西宏和噩，将他们尽行毁灭。我们一听见这些事，心就消化了。因你们的缘故，并无一人有胆气。耶和华你们的神本是上天下地的神。

于是在营中、在田野、在众民内都有战兢，防兵和掠兵也都战兢，地也震动，战兢之势甚大。

外邦人听见就发颤；疼痛抓住非利士的居民。那时，以东的族长惊惶，摩押的英雄被战兢抓住，迦南的居民心都消化了。惊骇恐惧临到他们。耶和华啊，因你膀臂的大能，他们如石头寂然不动，等候你的百姓过去，等候你所赎的百姓过去。

因为主使亚兰人的军队听见车马的声音，是大军的声音；他们就彼此说：“这必是以色列王贿买赫人的诸王和埃及人的诸王来攻击我们。”

他必从你们面前赶出这一切国民，就是比你们更大更强的国民，你们也要得他们的地。
